Why is the powder all white? Any other Mucuna I have bought has been a light brownish color

The raw material for our Mucuna Pruriens is lighter is because our product is made from a concentrated 8:1 extract, rather than a regular, non-concentrated powder. With extracts, generally the lighter the color, the STRONGER the extract. I know that may sound backwards, so I’ll explain how this works in supplements.

Our product is made from a potent, concentrated 8:1 extract. What this means is that the raw material is processed so that it contains a higher percentage of the desirable compounds (nutrients, antioxidants, l-dopa, flavonoids, anthocyanins, etc.), and less of the undesirable compounds (color, taste, fibrous material, sugars, etc.). By extracting or concentrating in this manner, the resulting extract becomes more potent than the original material. Thus, for our Mucuna Pruriens Extract, which is an 8:1, the raw material is 8X stronger than a non-extract (non-concentrate) raw material.
 
It’s kind of backwards thinking with supplements, in that supplement with a stronger, brighter color is generally weaker and lower quality, and concentrated extracts, which appear white or very pale, are much more potent.

The potency of the final product is always tested for accuracy and consistency, so that the actual product, despite the color variation, is always as claimed.

With Mucuna Prurients, the non-concentrated powder is light brown/tan. Then, when the raw material is concentrated – which is this product can contain 20% L-Dop – the raw material becomes white as the undesirable components are removed. Our product was lab-tested, and tested 20% L-Dopa, so we are confident that this indeed a strong, potent product.

These registrations and certifications are very exacting, and ensure that all labelling is 100% accurate, and that each capsule contains exactly what is stated on the label.
