Custom shrink treated Merino wool. 3/4 crew height sits just below the calf. Relaxed cuff. Reinforced heel and toe. Elastic support around the arch. Review: Socks With AN Attitude !!!!!!!!!!!! - I just received my order of these socks yesterday, and already I love them. I had been wearing SmartWool socks so I am familiar with the properties of wool, and how it keeps you warm, even when wet, as in wet, snowy conditions. Winter is dreary enough, such that when I look down at my feet, I want a "lift" in mood - I want socks with an "attitude". And these DarnTough socks, with their vibrant colors, stripes, and designs, certainly have a kicky attitude about them. They are so pretty, you could put an assortment of them in a shadow box, neatly arranged, and hang them on the wall. The sock designs would provide great composition. The quality is top notch (I knit, too, so I look at insides of socks to see how well they are made). Lastly, and very importantly - they are made in AMERICA. DarnTough ought to get a pair of these to CBS's Diane Sawyer - so she can include them in her next "buying American" piece. In sum, these are beautiful socks, in every sense of the word. I recommend them not only for their excellent fit, but their warmth, their uplifting colors, and most of all - their "attitude". Thanks DarnTough - will be back for more. Review: Feet can have fun, too. Great socks! - The women's Large just fits my size 12 foot. But, the colors were so much fun that I kept all the socks I had initially ordered. When I found quite a few nice designs/colors in men's socks I tried some of those in Large and the fit is perfect for me. I am tall and another advantage to men's socks is that some come longer, i.e., mid-calf. The knit is fine enough to comfortably wear with any of my shoes.

Feet can have fun, too. Great socks!
The women's Large just fits my size 12 foot. But, the colors were so much fun that I kept all the socks I had initially ordered. Ultra comfortable warm but not hot sock
These are fantastic socks. I've been wearing them through two months of bitter cold in NYC and they have kept my feet comfortably warm--not sweating, and not overheated, but at the perfect temperature. I have washed them maybe 15 times on cold, regular cycle, and line dried them and they remain in excellent condition despite nearly daily wear. I wear an 8.5-9 shoe and ordered the medium, and they fit perfectly.

Comfortable
Loved them ! First time for me spending a little more then I ever have on a pair of socks. But they have been great , I work on a ship which travels between cold and warm climates all the time and also my feet are Jammed in my boots all day ,These socks were perfect light enough for the worm weather and the Merino wool kept them warm for the cooler days . The Merino also is great for keeping sweaty feet away :) And a bonus having such a cute look to them . I Would for sure buy another pair .

Good Quality
I tried an almost identical sock (re. fiber content and thickness) from the competition and the toes got holes in them after a vigorous backpacking trip (and yes, my nails were trimmed). These socks are not as comfortable (a little stiffer) but seem more substantial in construction, especially in the toe area. I have not used them enough yet to prove durability, but my hiking partner has and thinks this brand is the best for holding up to vigorous hiking. One star off for price and the fact that colors/patterns (and their names) could be improved, although the price is probably justified for the quality.

Great pair of socks
These socks are super comfy and high quality. I don't think they keep your feet quite as warm as the Smartwool light socks, but they are also a bit thinner. However, the thinner socks makes it easier to wear these as dress socks without stretching my shoes. I'm between a 9-9.5W, or 9.5-10M depending on the brand, and I found the large is a hair too big. I'll buy the mediums my next go around. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the socks.

BEST SOCKS EVER
I went to college in New Hampshire a long long long time ago. I was introduced to these socks years ago when I was in college and I've been a faithful fan ever since. I wear them all year long. They wear well and feel great. Worth the price.

I am now a believer in expensive socks
I've always been a low budget shopper when it comes to socks. I figured I wear them out so quickly anyway, why would I spend any more than I absolutely have to? But these have changed my sock world. I never thought that much about whether or not my socks were actually comfortable--it's a thin layer of fabric on your foot; how much can you really expect? But these are noticeably more comfortable than cheap socks. And they are really resistant to heel and toe wear. And they were made in the US by people who are not slaves and presumably receive a living wage. And they come in fun colors. I'm a complete convert. And at $15 a pop, they've moved into the "you can buy me this as a gift" category, vastly simplifying my relatives' Christmas shopping challenges.

They're not for me but the report I got back was that they're super comfortable and fit really nicely.

Very fun looking socks. Like all “darn tough” socks, the quality and comfort es excellent. There are expensive, but if I ever win the lottery I will replace all of my socks with darn tough socks.
