Will it survive through the winter of Northern Illinois

Yes as long as it is well established

How long. Does it normally take to get established?

I’m not sure bc I only got mine in late spring, but it seems to be pretty slow.

It is so tiny, it would take 25 years! This tree was much smaller than described- barely 15””!
