What are the lead "indicators" mine only goes to 2B and I am pretty sure it goes to 4B.

The hardness indicator it refers to the lead being used. HB lead, for example, is a soft lead and leaves a more intense trace and is easier to see than a hard lead like 2H, but can be broke more easily.
