A very useful art techniques book
This informative and easy to understand book will get you off to a flying start in line & wash and much more. It also guides you through more advanced techniques and materials in watercolour methods which are clearly explained, and which I found easy to follow. I have found plenty of ideas and inspiration for future projects.

It’s a great buy
I ordered this book having bought Liz’s previous 2 expecting great things and so far I haven’t been disappointed. Lots of things to learn and she shares all of her experience in an easy way to understand. Highly recommend it

A reasonable amount of Advice
Not a bad book in anyway but I was expecting more for the price. The Authors book on painting birds is great so maybe I was just more it tune to it. If this is your main focus you will probably enjoy it.

Smaller than I thought but still worth it!
I love this book, the art style, the layout, the writing style, I love it all. Liz Chaderton has a video on her YouTube channel were you can see the entire book so I didn’t find it worth my efforts to take and upload pictures (I always have bad lighting)

A book you'll really USE!
I own a mountain of watercolor books and entirely too many of them seem like an afterthought for an artist trying to decide what to do with a pile of paintings: Notice how the clouds are done here. Sometimes a dark palette is useful! And so on. This is an extraordinary little book written by a real teacher who shapes her illustrations to the text -- not the text to the illustrations. She'll lead you clearly through an authentic curriculum! This is a book you'll keep at hand as you work, not read and return to the bookshelf to gather dust. And her extensive tool and material recommendations aren't perfunctory: they are highly specific, naming and comparing brands.

Loads of info on different art materials and techniques.
There’s loads of info in this book that is very useable. Liz is very generous in giving her knowledge and techniques and it is one of the better books I have bought.
