Bose SoundLink Revolve Charging Cradle Black

After reading many posts about the charging cable being unstable and not staying plugged in, I was a bit skeptical to order this. I have had a couple of issues with off brand chargers and adapters though, so I thought I'd give Bose the benefit of a doubt and stick with the OG product. I am not disappointed. I'm not sure if they've changed their design based on previous complaints, or if I'm just lucky, but this works perfectly. The angle and location of where the micro usb plugs into the base is a bit tight and not the easiest to get your fingers into. It also plugs in pretty tightly (with a definite click) and does take a bit of work to get it fully plugged in, so perhaps people that had issues with the cables coming loose might just not have had them plugged in fully to begin with. The cable also lays in a recessed channel on the underside of the charger. That recessed channel is not straight, but has a bend/turn in it, so it would be very difficult, if not impossible for the cable to just slip out of the usb port. Again, this may be an improvement and design change that Bose has made based on previous issues. If so, then kudos to them for their resolution.

This cradle should be considered necessary for the Bose speaker. Everything on the speaker has a lifetime warranty except the USB power input. The USB receptacle on the speaker feels a little weak and I was worried about the long term reliability. This cradle eliminates the need to use that power input by using gold pins that make contact with small gold “plates” on the bottom of the speaker. So, the worry about damaging the one item the warranty won’t cover is eliminated. $30 for the dock is probably less than the cost of repairing that USB port later. However, all is not perfect with the cradle. The female USB port on it provide a loose fit with the small male USB plug on your USB cable. There is also no way to capture or confine the cable under the charging cradle to keep it from getting pulled loose if you move the cradle just a little. That combination - loose fit and easy movement of cable means that you have to try very hard to never move the cradle once you carefully set it down with the cable in place. It’s very annoying. You will only know it’s come loose when you notice that the speaker isn’t charging. Not up to the usual Bose standards. However, overall, still much better than the tedious task of plugging in the USB cable every time (which fits loosely in the speaker and can lose connection there too).

I got this charger to sit my Bose Revolve speaker on near my Amazon echo dot 2nd generation. The dot has been a fun purchase. I use it to turn on and off, TV and lights, etc. The speaker is ok if you ask Alexa what is the weather but not very good if playing music. I keep the dot attached to the Revolve so I can stream music through the Revolve or pick up the speaker and take it another room or outside. As some of the reviews point out the charger cable has to be just right to allow the cradle to stay flat and function well. You have to have a little slack in the cable or it can loose connection. It takes a little practice to sit the Revolve on the cradle and make connections. However, once you get a feel for it, it works well and there is no moment when you say - oh I forgot to charge my bluetooth speaker. Could Bose have included this with the speaker? Yes. Does it feel like it is worth the money? Yes. I gave it 4 stars because the cable for the plug is rather short, it is a little awkward to attach the cable to the cradle and they could have included it with the speaker. That said, it is nice to have.

This thing is crap! The worst Bose design I’ve ever used. Where you plug it in is almost laughable. And the cord falls out constantly when charging so you actually don’t get your speaker charged awesome sauce but not really.. I gave it five stars as a joke!

Issues with this cradle: 1. It still uses micro USB rather than USB-C. Furthermore, the port for the USB cable is in a stupid, recessed position, nearly flush with a 90-degree turn in the base, resulting in a royal PITA to even get the cable connected. Then, the cable does not have a secure connection and disconnects easily, forcing you to go through that rigmarole again. 2. The design of the docking connection is not great, making it a surprisingly difficult process to get the speaker on the cradle. Once it is on, you have no confidence that the connection is correct, or that it is sitting securely enough that it won't get bumped off easily. 3. Even once I worked through the above issues, the speaker was not reliably charging. I had about a 50% success rate. 4. You can take the same micro USB cable and easily plug it into the side of the speaker, more easily than you can use this cradle, in less time, and with more confidence that it is working correctly. 5. This product cost $30. For a piece of garbage. It's not even worth the time to process a return. I'm just going to accept I got fleeced and never buy an accessory from Bose again. Bonus Complaint: Not really related to the cradle, but to the speaker itself, and Bose as a product and service provider. The Bose Connect app is also garbage. The phone's built-in Bluetooth management is easily superior.

it is awesome. FAST! and so much more convenient than the usual cables. i cant believe i waited 5+ yrs to purchase one … NOW i want TWO —- one for each of my revolve (1 &2) speakers— works great for both… DONT DELAY

Even though you can recharge your Bose Revolve speaker without this cradle, it is very practical which is why I recommend it

There are oem products out there do the same job as this authentic charging cradle. But when you look at the long run, this is the "right" way to do it. Bose soundlink revolve+ ii can play while charging. Also Revolve+ ii is known for its micro USB charging port issues thus this is the best and the safest way to keep charging the speaker while listening. Again, absolutely nothing wrong with iem charging cradle, I actually have one at my work just in case, but it feels right to have authentic product.

This is perfect if you have the speaker as it is an easy way to charge without having to constantly try and plug the cable into the speaker. It’s small and neat and it sits cleanly on the side. Better than having the cable lying around where the end can get damaged. Perfect addition to the Bose speaker
