Helpful resource for studying for IBCLC board exam!

Update: I passed the IBLCE exam this spring! Have a combination of test preparation questions, review content and notes to reinforce your knowledge tank. Good luck to all the aspiring LCs out there! This study review text is dense on material. In my opinion this prepares test takers for the actual exam. I like the colored images provided (over 100). Also at the end of every chapter, there are rationales for the answers. I go back and review the content I got wrong/my weak points on my own. A lot of the practice questions are application based. . . . .So a student has to gather all the knowledge they know to solve the question. I'm in favor of that set up because most exams aren't just recall questions, it's good practice. If you're thinking of taking or preparing for the exam, this book is a great supplement for practicing exam questions. :) Happy Studying :)

Super helpful for a review! I wish the rationales were a little more in depth, but still good content.

This resource is a complete waste of money at a critical exam prep time! The images are horrible. They use inaccurate images to test concepts. Numerous answers are simply wrong according to multiple governing bodies and often their question explanations contradicts what they say the answer actually is. 5 times during the practice exam, they marked the answer wrong but their explanations confirms my answer to be correct. I have multiple pictures. DO NOT USE THIS TO PREPARE FOR EXAM!!

I can't decide if I love or hate this book because it's made me feel intellectually inferior more than once, but most of the content I find relevant to the information I need to retain. I would dispute some of the answers however.

I bought this for my daughter to review for her cert exam.

Lo compré para repasar en los últimos meses antes de mi examen de IBCLC. Me pareció muy completo, suficientes preguntas de dificultad variada y la justificación de la pregunta breve pero suficiente para entender por qué se eligió tal o cual respuesta como correcta. Hay algunas respuestas que pueden ser debatibles respecto a la evidencia más actual PERO hay que tomar en cuenta que es un libro para familiarizarse con el tipo de preguntas del examen, y en ese supuesto cumple al 100. Este libro y él Breastfeeding Atlas son el combo ganador para el examen IBCLC

Really good book to prepare you to sit the exam. It has questions on all topics which will be present in the exam with pictures to help. I used to test my knowledge before taking a lactation course to see where my weaknesses are to know where to spend my time studying. Then used again after my course had finished to see how I had progressed. It's a really good tool to understand how the questions will be phrased in the exam as some questions can have technically 2 'right' answers however you have to pick the MOST right.

The questions are an awesome mix of difficulties. And lots of them. Definitely feel like it will help me pass the IBCLC exam.
