Horrifically EXPENSIVE, but...
... unless you want to invalidate the warranty and/or not be able to receive service on your Synology NAS, you *MUST* purchase their branded memory. Adding two of these, bringing the NAS memory to a total of 32GB really improved it's overall performance.

BEWARE! NOT SYNOLOGY BRAND! 🤬
As you can see from the photo, what is advertised is not what is delivered. Synology Branded RAM comes with a bright red sticker with SYNOLOGY printed on it.Additionally, Synology responds to the photo of what Amazon/The Buy Box Seller sent me instead of what is advertised here on amazon.com:“I have submitted an inquiry about this and that is NOT Synology ram.” ... Matt M at synology.comIf I’m going to pay four times the going rate for RAM, just to ensure every minute detail conforms to Synology’s requirements, I sure as shell better get the RAM I ordered, not some substitute!Sure, the $100 Kingston RAM would *probably* work just fine, but I have enough gremlins in my systems that I don’t need to risk creating another decade of headaches to save $300 on a $10,000+ computer!

Works well
Had no issues with this RAM. Put it into a 12bay Synology and it just worked.

Ridiculous price, but does what it's supposed to
It was hard to stomach buying this RAM to upgrade my NAS because the price is rather ridiculous, but from what I've been told you will void your warranty if you upgrade your Synology NAS using a RAM other than that made by Synology. So I bit the bullet and got it.Obviously, it's a RAM upgrade so you are getting what you expect. I felt obligated to give it 5-stars simply because it does what it is supposed to, and even though they are blatantly gouging you on the price I didn't feel it was fair to dock a star because of that. Especially since the price will likely come down over time.

Excessively overpriced RAM
Works fine in my DS1618+, but it is excessively overpriced. Synology basically forces you to use their branded RAM to avoid loss of support.
