KAMUI Self Inflating Sleeping Pad - 2 Inch Thick Camping Pad Connectable with Multiple Mats for Tent and Family Camping

Some people knocked off a star or a few for the non self inflating issue. Frankly I wasn’t specifically looking for a self inflating pad and got a micro inflater for like $15 that inflated the pad in about 30 seconds . What I was looking for was a comfortable pad with a higher R value that would keep me warm winter camping. The pad stayed inflated well the entire time (4 nights) and I didn’t have to reinflate. The pads are big. I bought three for myself and my two kids we ended up just using two side by side which was about the size of a full bed. We’re all on the shorter side (I’m 5 ft even) and found the even the shorter side was wide enough (2 together) to sleep on. They are pretty easy to deflate and roll up . Taking it down took about 30 seconds . That said they take up about as much space as a standard sleeping bag so space wise it is a pretty significant amount. I would recommend them for car based camping or maybe winter backpacking if you are worried about freezing and willing to sacrifice the weight and portability for a reliable sleeping spot. It is pretty heavy compared to a lightweight pad or a closed cell pad. However it’s an excellent blend of comfort and warmth. I used a Kelty 0f bag along with a fleece liner and was toasty in 20F-30F temps. I did use a mini electric space heater as I was using a 6 person 3 season tent due to all the gear for snow exploration and additional stuff as there were predictions of warmer temps and rain. I would guess the temp in the tent was similar to that of my 4 season two person tent without any heater .

Diese Iso-Matte ist echt gut. Sie ist sehr bequem, man liegt nicht auf dem Boden sondern auf einer sehr bequemen 5 cm dicken Iso-matte. Nicht wie bei anderen Iso-matten solcher Art bei denen man auf dem Boden liegt! Sie hält warm selbst im Winter ist man gut geschützt von dem kalten Boden. Sehr gut und einfach zu verpacken. Selbst aufpumpen funktioniert gut, bisschen nach pusten kann/muss man trzd. Komfort ein stern Abzug wegen dem etwas größerem Packmaß.

The Kamui came in a box much smaller than I expected. I thought I received the wrong product! I followed the simple directions and had no problems. It took about five breaths to fully inflate the first time after about ten minutes letting it self inflate. I have not slept on it all night, but I did lay on it in my back and side position. It is firm enough that my hip and shoulder did not bottom out. That’s important to me because I am a side sleeper. I am six feet tall and weigh 165lbs. The pad is very comfortable. It seems well made and durable. Deflating was a breeze. I knelt down on it while rolling it up. It easily fit in the bag. I reinflated it and used two breaths to firm it up. I will use this for short camping trips in my Ford F150 when I don’t want to pull my travel trailer. I will also use it on holidays when there is not enough bedrooms and I’ll put it on the floor to watch TV. It’s going to get a lot of use! I was going to spend $145 dollars on a Thermarest Mondo King, but missed the sale on Amazon. Lucky for me. The Kamui has everything I need at $37! Score! Update: I slept on the floor in my Kamui last night. I’m going to keep the five star rating. My main concern was testing the R-insulation factor. I didn’t feel any chill coming through from the floor. My house is on a concrete slab with a thin carpet. I was warm all night. I found it necessary to let out some air, it was too firm at first. I just reached up and loosened the valve. This pad is not as comfy as my pillowtop mattress, but I didn’t expect it to be. At this price, I may get another Kamui to stack on top and I’ll be able to really dial in the perfect firmness. A second one will give me 4 inches of comfort.

Love the colour and way it can be re rolled after use. Comfortable and as expected. Great colour, self inflates. Perfect for scout camp. Happy with purchase. Bought another brandbefore but the straps tore the mattress and I has to throw away. This one is much better quality and easy to use.

Très content du matelas. Véritablement autogonflant et très facile à rouler et à ranger dans sa housse contrairement à une certaine concurrence ou il est impossible à remettre dans sa housse. Cependant attention sa largeur utile ou surface de couchage ne fait que 60 cm. Maintenant reste à connaître sa solidité dans le temps.
