Last month my boys got open water certified down in Key Largo, FL I considered the expensive “GoPro” option to document their first few scuba dives, but couldn’t bring myself to drop over $500 for camera, case and handle. Instead got the pro shot for our iPhone 7 Plus. Two day shipping from Amazon was great as all the local dive shops were sold out or stocking only more expensive alternatives. Instructions were simple (so follow them) and we installed the software to reconfigure the function of the phone volume buttons. Tested in the hotel tub and worked perfectly. The next day we charged the phone and made sure we had plenty of memory. As soon as we entered the water my son started filming. Descended slowly to about 45 feet. No leaks. The video quality was excellent! Especially enjoyed the clear sound of the 2nd stage opening and exhale of exhaust. Colors on the video were great until depth started washing out the reds. We carried no external lights.Simply amazed to get such quality video for such a modest price. No leaks or sweating in the camera housing. Probably good below 45-feet, but my son was nervous about leakage damaging his phone. Replayed the video on the dive boat for other passengers. Jealousy....Quick tip: When filming, move painfully slow from object to object. Get some face shots of your divers (slowly) and take a moment to poke under coral and rock. Get some closeups of corals and small shrimp. You can always edit on your laptop at night. We did not bother turning video on and off during the dive in case of a glitch. We just let it run till our air ran low. However, the buttons worked as advertised once on the surface. Get this case for your iPhone.

It worked above water no problem. However I was snorkeling in salt water took one picture then it stopped working. Took it out of the water and out of the case then back into the case and tried again same results one picture above and one below in the water then it would not work. so I just wasted my money on something I thought would be good for snorkeling, would not buy again.

I purchased this for my new iPhone 7 plus, a hugh investment, and was leary of the ability to place my phone underwater. I tested it out before placing in ocean and it worked great. Went to Hawaii, went snorkeling and it has worked perfectly. I've taken some awesome shots while snorkeling. The app works great. I can even interface with my screen while underwater. You can switch between photo and video very easily. The case is pretty snug which is what you want, pulling it out of the case after use takes some strength but overall this is a worthwhile product.I am adding to my review: I had my case for a month on a trip to Hawaii then to the Colorado River: The blue clasp cracked while I was on the river but I could still take some awesome water shots as I did not have to submerge the device. When I returned home I contacted the company via Amazon and they sent me a new case, no questions asked... just had to sent them a pix of the damage... That is GREAT customer service. I would definitely recommend this company.BTW The camera's audio works perfectly while in the case.

I really wanted to LOVE this case and not have to drop $$ on a GoPro for a snorkeling trip to the Caribbean. I have an iphone 8 plus. It worked great for about a half hour, then I noticed it had taken on water. I immediately swam back to the boat, removed the camera and set it out to dry. The home button was affected by the leak and I had to continue to use the assistive home button for three days until the phone had completely dried out, and the home button began to work again. Not sure why the gasket didn’t seal properly, but I really wish it had worked because I have another trip coming up shortly. It’s a great idea and I hope that maybe a better seal could be manufactured.

The media could not be loaded. I was really excited to get this case because my GoPro recently stopped working. The shipping was pretty quick to Hawaii about a week. I love how simple this case is to use. It feels very sturdy and comes with a strap so u don't lose it while holding it in the water. Another thing I noticed about the case was that my phone didn't get very hot. Usually at the beach it warms up A LOT but with this case on it was fine. It's a really great land case also. I had sand all over it and my phone was in perfect shape after I took it out. Would recommend buying this over an expensive GoPro. iPhone cameras are great they just need to be protected by a great case !

I bought the case for snorkeling and it seemed to work well for underwater pictures and video The pro case app is a must (free) which, among other things, transfers camera control to the stainless buttons that are working on the volume buttons. The buttons can be set to flip modes between video, photo, sleep, zoom, etc., where you use the vol down button to select the mode and vol up to execute. You really do need to turn off all "sleep mode" features on your phone, as it is painful if your camera goes into sleep mode while in the water, because the touch screen is not so sensitive in the water. My phone has a screen shield.Went in the ocean 3 times and the camera is dry. I did not try using the phone for calls while it was in the case. I like that the case uses standard GoPro mounts.
