What are the 3 little round things that look like a plug should go through?

Using these wall mounts; does it allow air flow around the google wifi ? … between the wall outlet and holder? … is there any space?

The Google Wifi units do not have any ventilation, so neither do the mounts. But there is minimal to no space behind the units when they're against the wall (just like there would be no space underneath them if they were sitting on a table). You may be able to adjust that space slightly, but adjusting could might make them loose and able to be knocked off the wall. I have not had any issues with overheating.
