Game changer for traveling AND noise reduction!!
After reading many reviews highlighting convenience AND noise reduction, I decided to go for it and I am SO GLAD I did. In the 5 plus years of using CPAP, this is the best travel hose for I've used, I'm just so sad I didn't find it until this year!!Between camping and traveling, I'm away from my home setup 60-80 nights a year and I've tried all the short, slim, mini hoses out there. The innovation in this hose is that it is built like a small clothes dryer hose and collapses on a storage stick. Yeah, like other say, it takes you one time to figure it out and put it back on, but nothing major or difficult and what you get is a sturdy, uncrushable, unfoldable, stick barely 10 inches! It slides right in the travel bag and I don't worry about it anymore. Also, I haven't seen or had any reason to question that opening/closing this over and over adds any extra wear or would make this wear out any faster than any other hose I've had. That includes camping, where this hose is inside my sleeping bag with me getting rolled over and slept on!Now for the noise and traveling. If you've got a 2nd smaller travel CPAP machine, you'll know that they aren't as quiet as your normal full sized home machine - there just isn't the room in them for the insulation. They do what they can with the housing, but most of the noise comes directly from the fan and out the port into the hose. The baffles and gadgets for those travel machines try to block or redirect some of the sound but don't waste your money on them, I've not found a noticeable difference. I never would have thought that the hose was a major player in the noise transmission but it is!. This hose, because it has a flexible material around a coil wire (remember like a clothes dryer hose) it just doesn't transmit the sound and vibration up the hose like the solid corrugated hoses. Now nothing is perfect, but this makes enough of a noticeable difference for me to take the time do write this review!!If you travel, just get it, you won't regret it!!!

Good hose, but read the review for some important tips.
Good design, but there are a few things to know.I have an HDM Z2 Auto travel CPAP. It’s very small and easy to pack. It provides good therapy, but there is a bit of noise that travels into your mask. A user on a cpap forum found that this hose eliminated most of the noise. I ordered this hose, and used it this weekend. It seems very flimsy, but I actually think that it will be reasonably durable. The first night, it still had a bit of plastic smell, but that was gone by the second night. It’s very flexible, and worked well. Putting it back on the rod/holder is entertaining, but once you have done it a couple of times, it’s not difficult. I’m happy with the performance. This trip I still had the backup hose in my carry on bag just to be safe, but I suspect that I don’t really need to keep doing that. In my case the primary reason for purchasing this was for the noise reduction in my mask, and it did a great job for that. The other issue that some have complained about is that the hose did not fit their CPAP unit. The mask end should not be a problem, but the end that connects to the Z2 air outlet does not fit out of the box. This is easily fixed by using a standard elbow adapter. I use RESMED 36810 hoses, and they come with this adapter included. You can also buy that adapter separately, but if you use slim tubes, the RESMED 36810 is probably a less expensive option, and you get a hose and the adapter.

Excellent for travel!
I prefer to carry on my CPAP and related supplies in case my luggage gets lost (has happened twice to me so far). I'd been getting by with the normal slimline tube, and it was working but it added bulk to my limited carryon space. This item is amazing - I wish I'd found this a long tie ago! It's very compact and takes up 1/8th the space of a normal hose. It doesn't seem to be any louder (or quieter) than a normal hose with my travel setup. The first time putting it back on its spool was a little challenging, but mostly because I was afraid of damaging it.My only concern with this travel hose is one of durability. It seems like fairly thin plastic that would develop a hole - but to its credit I've used it on 5 trips so far and it's held up remarkably well. Time will tell of durability, but so far I'm very happy with my purchase.

It worked for 3 weeks, and then it would not stay on the machine....
Oh, I wish I could say that this thing was as great as it was for one trip. I used it on a 3 week trip to Europe, it was fine and I liked the way it collapsed so I could go carry-on only. I went on another trip 2 months later and the friction fit end won't stay on the cpap machine now. I had to rig up rubber bands to keep it from popping off when I turned on the machine. I called the company I got it from here on Amazon, Patient Sleep Supplies, and the customer service guy said it was past 30 days, so oh well.... I tried to go to the manufacturer's website but it does not exist anymore apparently. I don't recommend you buy this for these reasons. Purchased in the middle of Feb, used it in Mar without issues, tried to use it again in May but nope.

Overall a great accessory for frequent traveling
I bought this as an accessory to use with my Z2 travel cpap. Saves tons of space in my luggage. Easy to set up and put away.Just a couple of cons…1) It is noisier than a regular tube, not just from the normal airflow noise, but it crinkles if you roll around when you sleep. Both are reduced with a the addition of a soft cover2) a little more difficult to clean, but not a deal breaker.3) and this is the weird one… TSA stops me every single time and pulls my bag aside for secondary inspection. Not sure what they think they’re looking at when they see it on the X-ray screen, but it flags for inspection every single time at every airport I’ve been to since I got it. I’ve started putting in the outside mesh side pocket of my backpack now, they still pull it but the process goes quicker.

Good concept, not great design
Good concept to conserve space because the hose usually is so unweildly. Bot this is difficult to get back into the storage tube.
