High quality paper
This notebook is a joy to use. The plain MD paper has a smooth, high-quality feel that works beautifully with both pencils and pens, and it handles fountain pen ink with minimal bleed-through. Writing on it feels effortless, making it ideal for journaling, sketching, or note-taking. The A5 size strikes a nice balance—portable enough to carry anywhere, yet with plenty of space for longer writing sessions. The minimalist design is elegant and understated, letting the focus stay on the writing itself. Durable, clean, and versatile, it’s the kind of notebook that quickly becomes a favorite.

These are great
I'm a fan of these so I'm biased. I think they're great. easy to get a bit dirty though. they lay flat, the paper quality is nice. they're good with fountain pens and pencils. I'll honestly buy these for any class I have to take i the future. the A5 size is perfect because it makes you keep your notes concise and clean and you dont have a ton of wasted space on each page so the material is nice and dense when you try and study. I like to buy the blank paper version. Personally have grown to dislike lined paper unless its graphed like calculation pads or engineering notebooks but blank is my favorite. The cream paper looks great too. Some will say the paper is see through and that's totally true. it's not transparent but just like reading a book you can see the print on the back side. I thought that would bother me, and it did at first but you get used to it and all of the pros out weigh that. Also the hard card stock for the cover and back are thick enough you can paint with water colors if you're into that. I've done it and it came out great. also I havent found another notebook like this one so if you're interested in the uniqueness then give it a try, or try the A4 size (at the time if this review, amazon doesnt carry the blank A4 model).

Well made
The journal is a cream color both the cover and pages are the exact color. Comes with stickers and a cover page. Lays flat , paper has a nice smooth feel to it . Pages are light yet sturdy. Tested a Lamy Safari Fountain pen in violet and no bleeding but has shadowing on the back page.

Great for Fountain Pens
This paper is great for fountain pens. Hard press writing -NO Bleedthrough. Smooth glides across the paper. I just wish there were more pages.

My favorite journal ever
I adore how simple, clean, and customizable this notebook is. I especially like that the cover is a thick card stock type paper, i painted a watercolor on the front and it didn’t comprise the color at all. Just a really solid little notebook that’s extremely versatile. Will be rebuying!

Perfect quality
Love it. Paper feels so nice

Excellent
Excellent and stylish. I use for pen and ink drawing. I use a spare sheet of paper to avoid any bleed. The paper is thin, pen and ink is fine, alcohol markers would not work well.

UPDATED Cover creased, paper mixed smooth & toothy
UPDATED 11/11/2021 Since my initial review, I have bought and used several midori MD notebooks in B6slim and A6 sizes. The paper in other notebooks is smooth but I noticed that sometimes a rougher page in between. For the most part I really enjoy these notebooks. Inks have good shading and character on this paper but I have to be careful to not get extra oils from my hands onto the paper as it will cause some fountain pens and inks to stop writing. I will continue to purchase them. ORIG: So disappointed. The cardboard soft cover came with a large fold/crease down the front and two creases on the back cover. I had heard so many good things about midori paper but was not happy to find the paper in the blank unruled notebooks are not consistent. Some pages feel smooth and some are very toothy/rough. I understand some want toothier paper for art but this was going to me my writing journal so I wanted smooth lovely paper. I didn’t expect a notebook to have a multitude of different papers. I would have returned it but amazon says returns are not possible for this product. Oh well. I wish I stuck with my go to stalogy which has been consistent with their paper and quality.

The perfect notebook?
The perfect notebook. Paper is high quality and works a dream with my fountain pens. Haven’t had any bleed through and there is only minimal ghosting. (Less than hobonichi). True a5 size and feels premium. Worth the price as it feels a lot better quality compared to other notebooks. Minimal design which allows for customisation. Cream coloured pages which make writing easier on the eyes. Perfect for long writing sessions and can handle inks, pens, acrylic and even watercolours despite its thin pages.

Funcional
