Dissolving Classroom Collector's Edition

Nice addition to the Ito library
The manga itself is great, as can be expected. Junji ito never lets you down and always delivers. The man has an incredible body of work and none of it is subpar or dissappointing. I can't praise him enough. Now, onto this new release- I feel like this hardcover versions cover should have been the original Japanese cover, which in this English hardcover version is featured on the title page after the contents page, the one with chizumi jumping out and looking terrifying (but in black and white). That particular art piece has that shock factor and it looked great in color and is so appropriate and fitting as a cover piece. That said, the newly colored pieces in this new English hardcover version such as the front and back cover, Ito's introduction page (which features new artwork), and the couple pages in the middle especially look vibrant and crisp and are a welcomed addition. Pick this up if you don't have the softcover version yet, or hell, get it even if you do and support the master of horror himself and most importantly- support physical print production!

Finally in hardback
Great book, love the masterful work of Junji Ito. His ability to transition from darkness to light is amazing. My only complaint is the books new design, the paperback cover is much better. The hardback design looks more like a placeholder than a final design. Small complaint, it just looks out of place against his other covers. Small complaint, but enough I wrote a paragraph about it

For hardcover collectors...
This is just the paperback version in hardcover format. That makes it the superior version given I only buy hardcover editions of Ito's work. Softcover simply won't hold up over time, and I'm glad we're finally getting upgrades to past releases.

Good Story but weird Quality
I was expecting the quality of book that Ito’s usual publisher produces. This book was small and had a lack a quality in comparison to his other works. It didn’t have inside cover images and the pages felt thin. The overall story was good but slightly repetitive with an introduction of characters every chapter and some of the same lines.

My book has extra pages..
The color image in the first picture is supposed to be right inside the main cover after the first blank page, but my book has an additional 16 inverted pages before it which are actually copies of the last 16 pages of the book. Does that make it more collectable? Lol

great storry terrible book
compared to the viz manga this "collectors edition" is very poor quality the paper feels like newspaper the cover art is terrible so bad i thought the image was just a placeholder for when the edition comes out... unfortunately they put the same pic on the front. whats frustrating is its the most nothing burger of an image from the manga.the first image in the book would have made a much better cover. great story as expected from ito fun, gross and spooky. id recommend just getting the paperback but dispute its ugly cover i prefer hardcover.

Pretty Underwhelming
Was excited to see what this "collector's edition" would be like since I loved the original. No real difference from the paperback other than being hardcover. Nothing added. Love Junji Ito but if you already have the paperback don't bother with this. Paperback has a cooler cover too.

Pudo tener una mejor presentación
El tomo es pequeño, en comparación a otras editoriales si se queda algo corto, tanto en tamaño como en la calidad de las hojas. Pero tiene buena traducción.

Great but small
Great book but the size doesn’t fit in with others in the collection. Probably would have been better as part of a collection in hardback.

Too expensive for bad quality
The media could not be loaded. This limited edition Hardcover was supposed to be an upgrade over the still available softcover. But here are the negative points:-The cover is longer than the back for some reason, my book is not morphed, check the first video please.-The black ink is weaker than in the original softcover and looks therefore washed out-the pages are not as yellow as in the softcover, but instead take a more grey look, like recycled paper (So still not white)-some pages have black ink smushed all over them, like someone broke the tip of a pencil and brushed the remains over the pages with the hand, instead of blowimg them away.-lots of tiny pieces of paper all in between the pages-some pages are ripped a little bit-brand new book has scratches on the cover-Its not actually a real hardcover with a binding, its just glued hardcoverSo overall very bad quality and feels cheap in the hands for a reason. Also the original cover of the softcover is missing. Instead they just put a page from inside the book and made that the cover, even tho the title doesn't make any sense now(It's called dissolving classroom, but now no classroom on the cover). If they change the cover, then I was hoping to find the original cover inside as a colored page, but its not. They actually included some new colored pages(which I showed all above) but they didnt mind to include the original cover too.But the actual reason my rating is so low, is because of the price, way to expensive. Especially for this quality. It should cost about 10-15$ and not 25. Even if the quality were to be spot on; it still wouldn't be worth 25$.Usually the junji ito Hardcover books are all worth it, this is the only one I cannot recommend buying.Just buy the original, its just better, not worth the colored pages. The cover of the original softcover also is 3D(You can feel it with your hands)

☺️
Since I never got the original book, I thought I’d get the collectors edition. This completes my set since all my Junji Ito books are hardback. :)

Dissolving classroom
Quite disappointed in this hardcover version of dissolving classroom. It's not that much bigger than the paperback version. I was expecting more of a cat diary hardcover size as dissolving classroom is double the cost of the paperback version. It's a classic junji ito story, the two stars is for the hardcover itself.
