TA-450 works great. Fill with supplied oil and started it on drawing down our auto AC which took only a few minutes but we ran it the recommended 45 minutes for most AC systems. No unusual noise or issue and it really drew the vacuum. Comes in a nicely tight foan package so it was not damaged as some suggest. Only question is how long between oil changes and if replacement parts are available when it does need new vanes. Time will tell and we hope when it does need parts the seller can support this pump. So far we have had no issues and love this pump.

I purchased this vacuum pump for two purposes. First was to pull a vacuum on a newly installed air conditioning system. I was able to pull just a tad over 30in/Hg of vacuum which was exactly what was needed per the systems recommendations. It was able to achieve this in just a few seconds, and was able to hold the vacuum for over 30 minutes even after being shut off. The pump has since then lived its life connected to a vacuum former that I use to make firearm holsters, mag pouches and knife sheaths. The pump again achieves 30in/Hg of vacuum on a regular basis. The supplied bottle of oil has lasted for just under a year, and I expect it to last another 6 months at minimum. The pump is fairly quite, and works quickly. The fittings are standard with clean brass threads.

I received the pump just in time to complete an urgent project. The directions include an "oil flush" procedure, so I filled the pump with oil, ran the pump for 1 minute, then drained the oil . The pump only came with one bottle of oil, and it took the entire bottle to fill up the pump, so now the pump is empty, and I have no oil to refill it for use. I bet the company who designed this pump package is still laughing about it. Well, now I have a properly flushed pump, that I can't use. Also, I needed the pump to vacuum bag a carbon fiber part, but I couldn't find anything online, or in my local hardware store, that would adapt either the 1/4 male flare or 1/2 male acme fittings on the pump to a regular straight or pipe thread. I needed a 3/8 barbed fitting to come off the pump to hook up the vacuum tubing, and hours of searching for an adapter revealed nothing. Edit 12/11/2018: I was able to find vacuum pump oil at a local auto parts store, though there were no specifications on either the pump directions included in the box, or the oil bottle I bought. They were also different colors (the oil provided was light amber, the oil I found is clear). I ran the pump with the 2nd fill of oil, and it ran great. It does shoot a lot of oil fog out of the air exhaust while pulling down to final vacuum pressure, but I detected no oil fog exhaust while the pump ran once the system was at full vacuum pressure. The gauge I used at 170' AGL on a cool, clear night showed a full 30.00" of Hg (I know, max is 29.92 at standard ATP). Since the pump works, and pulls a full vacuum, I upped my rating to four stars. The problem of the manufacturer supplying only enough oil to flush the pump, and not enough to actually use the pump, took off the 5th star.

So I had to get a vacuum pump that can handle multiple jobs and not have to worry about it being able to handle the work load. So I have read a lot of reviews on this pump and said let’s give it a try, so I did and it worked great for me. Just one big problem with this pump is it just keeps leaking pump oil all over the place and I can’t find where it is coming from. I checked the drain plug and the mounting screws (pump housing to the motor) everything was tight.. so I have looked at the sight glass and had noticed that the level had dropped by about 1oz or so. I am going to send it back only because it just keeps leaking oil. I know that some oil blow by is normal but not after use and cleaning it up and putting on the shelf clean and dry only to pass it by on the shelf and noticed that it was leaking oil all over the place. Maybe the company should concentrate more on quality control and making sure that before the product leaves that everything is good to go and the company’s website is a bust!! No proper links to get help or to be able to get replacement parts it just says return to place of purchase.. Likes. Great pump for the price. It’s quick and easy to use and can draw 30 in of vacuum on my manifold not connected to anything and get around 28-29in of vacuum when connected to the job. Starts quickly and runs pretty quite. The inlets 1/2 in acme and the 1/4 in flare on it make it easy to adapt it to your own needs. Dislikes.. It keeps leaking oil all over the place where it is coming from I cannot see just where it is coming from. All and all the pump is a great pump for the price..

Lasted one month (amazon says return window closed 5 days ago?) We use this vacuum pump about 30 minutes every day. It has worked flawlessly the entire time. Last night the electric motor on it smoked and it no longer works. Oil level is good.

The pump delivers good vacuum when brand new (under 200 micron) but that’s short lived. The unit has a very short lifespan and after about 15 hours use it will barely break 2000 microns. New, clean oil won’t bring the performance back. It’s simply worn out.

Compact, portable, easy to use. The handle doesn’t get in the way of the valves so that I can easily add hoses or whatever I need. Powerful enough to handle multiple tasks at once. The best thing I like about it is that it smokes less and uses almost no oil compared to all the other vacuum pumps I have used. In the past 6 years, I believe I have tried just about every vacuum pump on the market and they’re all oil eaters. I am talking a quart ever two or three weeks! This machine has been filled twice since I’ve had it. And other vacuum pumps have this steam/smoke that Is really annoying at best and possibly harmful to your lungs at worst. This one I actually have to look to see that it does have something similar but it’s such a little amount to as to be negligible. Its smokes, but it doesnt produce a cloud I can barely see through like the others. Without a doubt this is going to be my vacuum pump of choice from here on out.

I modified mine to use on a CNC vacuum work-holding table. I'll let you in on the secret that even the manufacturer refused to share... THE VACUUM PORT INLET IS 1/4-INCH NTP THREAD! Changing your port will void your warranty, yeah yeah yeah [eye roll]. The alternative is to string together about $40 worth of Frankenstein fittings to convert the 1/4" flare to push-to-connect fittings for use with PU tubing. The original port appears to have a check valve, but mine still holds vacuum after shutting off motor despite having no check valve. Frankly, I don't really care if it does or not for my application. There is a visible plume of oil mist that continuously blows out of the exhaust while it's operating, so plan your installation accordingly. Another thing worth noting. It comes with 10 ounces of oil which is just enough to ALMOST completely fill it for the first use. The user guide recommends JB Industries Black Gold vacuum oil.

Great little vacuum pump for ac repairs. Work well. Pulls a full vacuum quickly. Good value for the money.

I purchased this pump so I could bleed automotive hydraulic systems like brakes and clutches. The pump works very well and easily pulls 30" of mercury and it runs cool with no sign of overheating. If operated without any load it will push out a fine mist of oil through the breather but that is quite normal for this type of pump. My only complaint is with the intake fitting that it came with. It's set up for a flared metal line and is useless for my purposes so I changed it out for 1/4" NPT fittings that are more applicable for my application. It's a good little pump and will do the job and pricing is reasonable when compared to some others. I would buy again if need be. Revision: I purchased this unit to build a vacuum operated brake bleeding system. Unfortunately the plastic base and handle cannot withstand contact with brake fluid and they decompose and become extremely brittle and fail. There is no mention of this in the ad. If I had known that at the time of purchase I would have looked for something a little more robust. As it stands, I will have to modify the base and the handle to make this machine useful again.
