You can't beat this reel for the price. I have 3. I love this reel for trout and crappie. The last one I got to replace a Shimano. Very smooth drag. The first one I have had for 2 years. Bought it for trout fishing in Alaska. It's still going strong.

I brought two of these reels to replace the Summer series i am used to buying. I spooled them with 60 lb braid from another brand and it worked great . caught chubs and yellow tails

Looks to be a good purchase, was surprised for the cost it is a very nice reel, and a nice-looking reel have not used fishing yet, but put on a rod and lined with 15lb line. Reel has a smooth action and the bail trips Easly.

Very nice reel for the money. Great for ice fishing ! Love the folding handle !! Would recommend buying. Spool with 6 lb. Test on the 3000 model. I'm a NY fishing Guide. If a few seasons out of it great .

I just got this today so I am just now taking this out of the box and looking at it. It is a very nice looking reel and seems to be very solid. The action is extremely smooth and I like the handle. I’ll be putting this on my ultralight rod tomorrow, so time will tell after a handful of uses, but I expect it to be very nice.

Nice looking, casts well, & low noise. It was smooth working at first. But after several hours of fishing a creek, I noticed that reeling in started getting a little rough and grainy here and there. A few days later I opened the reel (no easy task BTW) and discovered the internal gears were bone dry. After some cleaning and oiling it was reeling smoothly again. Please note that its not unusual for some new reels to be unlubricated, both budget & higher priced. Can't speak on durability since I've only used it once. Nitpicks aside, I feel that this reel would be a good choice for beginners & casual anglers wanting a ultralight spinning reel at an ultralight price.

Excellent first time using it drag was smooth and worked great. Landed 14lb blue catfish with 6lb line no problem at all! Feels very well made and the folding handle is a huge plus!

As far as BUDGET spinning reels go, this might be one of the best available. Keep in mind, this is an ULTRALIGHT and is only meant for catching panfish and trout. It cranks smooth and wraps line just fine. I am not a fan of wooden handle knobs but it feels better than a hard plastic one. Toss crappie jigs, inline spinners, and balsa minnows just fine with this reel.
