A rather slow book if you’re accustomed to the quick unfolding ones. Has a good setting in a village and the antagonist is well written.

I normally don't write reviews about the products I buy from here but this time I felt so mesmerised by the excellence of RK Narayan’s writing that I thought I should leave a review..The main strength of Narayan’s writing is his humour and also his characters are very ordinary but there are certain aspects of their character that make them very interesting and this is what I appreciate the most in Narayan’s writing..In this novel the writer showed the rise and fall of a businessman character named Margayya ( one who shows the way)..I'm quite impressed by his deep research and knowledge about money and business related issues..I found three to four typing mistakes in the novel but apart from that everything was okay..and I enjoyed it very very much but the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is these typing mistakes..otherwise there is no denying that RK Narayan is an EXCELLENT writer and there will be no one like him in the future as well..
