Ever since we no longer had a video recorder, or set top box, or dvd player under the television THAT HAD A VISIBLE CLOCK ON IT, I have really missed having one there always visible, and have never been able to find a simple digital clock that suited the exact requirements that this position dictates - namely large enough display to be readable across the room, mains powered, display always on, keeps time during a power interruption, adjustable brightness so it isn't glaring. Finally I found this, which meets all of these. Comes with a USB supply, also takes batteries which are only there to keep the time set if power is cut, lovely large clear uncluttered display with JUST the time (I don't need or want to see the day, the date, the humidity, the likelihood of rain in the next hour etc.), with fully adjustable brightness (not just a bright/dim switch). I will still have to touch it twice a year for the clock changes, but I can live with that. Brilliant.

I've spent months searching for a clock with seemingly simple requirements; 1) able to go completely dark, 2) ability to turn the alarm off and on, and 3) wired power supply. It's been astonishingly difficult to find a clock that does these things - but this is it. The clock dims down enough that, due the the large display, my partner can read in the pitch darkness of the bedroom without the light waking me up. The alarm can be turned off an on without having to disconnect the clock, meaning it can still be used at the weekend and on holidays. It also has a power supply with USB option on case you were traveling. I'd like to take off a star because it's visually just cheap looking black plastic, but this is such a relief and simple to use it gets the full 5. Alarm tones are a little questionable - there are 6 to choose from, the most memorable of which is the sound of water dripping in a dungeon or massive empty basement. I'm not sure who wants that, but each to their own I guess...

Very good alarm clock, value for money. A little light so my cat knocks it over easily but I love the variable brightness. It goes from not visible to extremely bright. One negative is having to always set both alarms even if you only want one (you have to set both and then turn off the one you don't want).

Excellent clock. Really large and visible display. I can see the numbers very well without my glasses (I am extremely shortsighted) so don’t have to practically hang out of the bed towards the bedside stand in order to check the time at night, as with my previous bedside clock! Simple display (didn’t want date/temperature/day information ,just digits I could see without glasses). Simple set up. The light can be turned up or down, and full on is as good as a bedside lamp. All round excellent item, value for money, would recommend highly

I have tried a few different alarm clocks recently and this is by far my favourite! Firstly definitely wanted one which supplied the lead AND plug for mains use- not all give you a plug. Then the numbers are just so clear. It's a sliding scale for volume and brightness which really gives you full choice for what you want- for the numbers- of or very very bright. And easy to set, snooze and turn off alarm. Very happy!

Took a while to understand the instructions and I am still not 100% sure and often just press about until I get what I want . I totally love how large the read out is and for the first time in years I can actually see the time when I wake in the night, that is so good , The brightness can be altered and dimmed at night but it is still bright and large enough for me to see it easily across the room . The alarm tunes can be changed and the loudness and I like the sweet tinkly tunes to wake up to , so much better than the strident one we had before or the radio alarm shouting all the bad news at me in the morning For the first time in years I dont jump out of my skin when the alarm goes off . I love it, should have got one like this years ago ,

Great non-nonsense HUGE display clock. Even easier to read than was expected. Only criticism would be the extremely light weight plastic feel. Doesn't look as "cheap" (which it certainly wasn't) as it feels. Very easy to set time. Buttons feel solid. One of best features is the dimmer which can be adjusted to the precise desired setting. Great clock overall. Really pleased with it. Long power cable also.

Screen keep flipping out, when alarm is pressed the screen turns off & resets itself
