Q: When it is set for Tone and Static, the Tone seems to go off first, followed by a delay, then the shock. Does the shock come quicker if tone is off?

Thank you for asking about this! The tone would happen first in tone and static mode, as the tone is intended to function as a warning. If in static only mode, the static would likely occur slightly faster.

Q: Seems way over-priced (by double) for what you actually get. Shouldn't it last more than a year? Mine didn't before falling apart.

My first one lasted for 4 years but it just died and I got this one.. it doesn't seem like it will last as long but we will see. Still seems to be the best on the market.

Q: Is there a smaller mat or is the medium the smallest? My dog would easily be able to jump over the 3" strip

I am not the manufacturer but I own several mats that are 18-24” wide. My dog has jumped over the 18” one in a doorway but not the ones that are along a carpet. She must think the entire rug is charged. They also work well on furniture.
