When the batteries in my power operated roll up drapes leaked within one year (Major brand alkaline batteries and shades), I remembered that the 7 Nest smoke alarms that I added to my house came with these installed and they were still alive and well after 4 years! That was proof enough for me, so I bit the bullet and paid the price. This is an example of truly getting what you pay for. My powered drapes are going strong, and this brand battery makes a strong claim that they don't leak. They certainly haven't leaked in my smoke alarms yet!

Im using them shortly after they got released. Especially with things like remotes (UAV) they will last much longer, but are also a lot lighter, nice when using something that needs more than 2 or 3 batteries. Even on the cable remote (2 aaa) its noticeable. Usually other name brand alkaline will last about a year for my tv/cable remote, these are almost full after 6 month of use. Used them in my wireless gamepad for about 6 month, and they still had juice left.
