DonJoy Performance POD Ankle Brace (Black, Right, Medium)

I struggled to find a low-profile ankle brace that would fit in soccer shoes which are very thin and light weight. Most braces were too bulky on the sides and especially on the bottom of the foot where too much material and zero padding in soccer shoes made me feel like I was running on my arches. This brace stabilized my ankle very well, and then strap that went under the foot was thin enough to not cause too much discomfort. I had zero ankle roll with this on and was able to adjust the tightness so that I could still flex my foot enough to point my toe to take shots. Touch was still a little off wearing the brace but was much more manageable than the other braces I tried. Well worth the money.

I was hesitant to purchase this because I thought it would be like every other brace I have used before. This thing is fantastic. I reinjured (sprained) my ankle last week. I have been trying another type, and it was just causing more pain. This brace immobilized the ankle, but it still allowed me to run and play pickleball. I don’t know how it works, but it does. My whole foot felt comfortable and safer than it has in years. Well done and well made product.

Provides good lateral stability and is easy to put on. I like that it doesn't press on my ankle bones, which helps alleviate pressure and rubbing.

I bought 2 different braces after my ankle gave out on me twice while building a deck. My ankle seems to roll sideways for some reason, so I thought I’d try wearing a brace. I bought this brace and one called an ultra zoom. Both are good, but I like the way this one is so easy to put on; feels snug & secure, yet still allows for good movement; slips into my shoe easily; and is comfortable enough to wear all day. I usually don’t even remember that I’m wearing it. I have been able to wear it in my Xtratuf boots, but it’s a very tight fit. I’m a biologist, so I’m frequently wading through streams, or walking over rough and sometimes steep terrain in the middle of nowhere by myself. Having a brace that I can rely on is critical. So far I’ve had no further issues with my ankle, and I think the brace has done it’s job. I wear a shoe size of 11 and got the medium size. My ankle circumference is 13”.

My ortho doc suggested this brace because the lace up style brace was causing immense pain after about 30 minutes to an hour. This thing is great. It provides support but doesn't put pressure on the achilles, which is what caused the pain for me. It is a bit more bulky than the lace up style, but I was still able to get it into my boot for work.

I bought this strap to alleviate a drop foot condition, for which it worked very well. But I had to give it only three stars because of their customer service. I broke the ankle strap, which I don't blame on the product but rather of two years of tugging on it, the problem is when I tried to order a replacement. I was shunted to three different departments getting comments which ranged from buy another brace ( which I likened to throwing out a pair of shoes because a shoestring broke) to "we don't make those straps any more". I feel that parts should be available, it isn't as though I was asking for a free strap, I wanted to buy the strap. So, good product, terrible service.

I have been through multiple sports related injuries to both my knees and ankles. I started playing tennis about 6 months ago and I experiencing horrible ankle pain from tweaking them or rolling them slightly when I planted to move side to side. I decided to try this brace after trying many other off the shelf braces from Ace, McDavid, and ASO with no luck (all were painful to wear for several hours and did not provide enough support). Needless to say, I was reluctant to try a brace that appears to have even more rigidity than the braces I just mentioned; however, I have to say that this is the most comfortable brace I have ever worn. I got them on Saturday and played three sets of tennis with no pain and I just played 4 more sets, two days later on the following Monday, with absolutely no pain from wearing the brace and no pain from playing. The support is absolutely amazing. One thing I will say after reading other negative reviews of this product. It is CRITICAL that you follow the instructions and measure your ankle at the widest point. DO NOT just go by your shoe size. I bought a large because my ankles are 14", but my shoe size says I should have ordered a small. If you measure your ankle and order the correct size, it will fit like a glove.

I suffer from chronic sprained ankle and when I work out, I normally wear an Active Ankle brace. I wanted something a little less bulky and tried the DonJoy POD brace. I wore it one time to the gym and actually sprained my ankle while wearing it without doing anything too strenuous. I have since sent it back. Aside from my injury, I noticed that this brace limits almost all movement for your ankle, not just in the direction you don't want it to move. I found my leg fighting against it for all activity. It's more minimal than any other brace I've owned, but it's also the least comfortable. This product is also getting a poor review for customer service. I've gotten three emails from the company, asking for a review on Amazon, but also asking that I reply to the email if I had any issues (instead of leaving a review). I replied. Twice. I didn't hear back from them. So, now I'm leaving a review.
