Colt Tactical Pen, Black

It was instant love as soon as I set my eyes and hands on this.I own about 10 tacpens. My would-be favorite was the Boker but the ball-bearing tip fell off. That upset me so I gave this Colt a try. I'm glad I did. I don't see the carbide tip falling off like the ball-bearing did. The DNA catcher crown is also very sharp making it easy to scratch, gouge, or punch and turn out a chunck of meat - not unlike a hole saw. The crown is not for everyone but I love having two striking points. I carry the pen mostly in my shirt pocket so the edges don't really bother me. It has a nice weight and solid feel. The pull-off cap fits tightly and eliminates any worry of the cap accidentally falling off like with some screw-on caps. The clip is strong and secure but not annoyingly tight and rigid to the point where it rips your pockets every time you clip it on. Pen writes just fine and the price is amazing at about half the cost of the Boker.I highly recommend this Colt tacpen.

A solid construction, well designed and well thought out. Solid, but doesn't look overly aggessive. I wouldn't use it in a defence situation, but as a glass breaker or general "punching holes in stuff tool", it's plenty enough solid.My only minus is the ink refill, which I promptly replaced with a Parker refill.

My husband loved this pen, smooth writing, great feel, great look... sadly the cap was not a tight fit from the beginning & the o ring fell out onto the floor in the 1st day.So, I returned it for him & purchased a look alike for 1/2 the price of this one from a popular auction site. It has an awesome cap fit & is the same in every other way.I expected more from such a well known brand name as Colt.Very disappointed, however, had the cap been tight & not lost the o ring he would have kept it as he loved it in every other way.

I just went through my second one, the window punch at the end comes loose and will fall out. I lost the second one and the first one it kept coming out and the clip broke.

First off, this pen is big. Real big. If you're in the military, it doesn't fit comfortably in any of the pockets. Specifically, ABU's. Also, the end of the pen does not come out of the casing far enough to see the pen meet the paper. Kind of a pain. Overall, i would not recommend this pen.

I use this pen on a daily basis for work. It is a grat pen for the price. The pen writes perfectly, the self defense end cap is very sharp and will come in handy if needed. The carbide tip glass breaker is well constructed, unknnown yet if it does work. Finish is high quality as is the over all quality of the pen. Solid feel. It is a little top heavy when writing but over all good quality. Cap fits snug, does not come lose.

so i've been a kubaton enthusiast for some time now, got some of the guys at work into it, showed them a few things, then found these tac pens. i was, surprisingly, among the last to get one, not sure how that happened, but i didn't want one everyone else had, even though they were good brands [uzi and smith & wesson]. so i looked around and found this. good price, well known brand, very well made. my favorite features are the crowning on the cap and that the cap pulls of instead having to screw it off. the cap still holds tight, i'm not at all worried about it coming off when i don't want it to.
