Absorene Smoke Soot Eraser Sponge 3 Pack with Storage Bag and Instruction Card

Had a ceiling light bulb smoke out instead of just stop working and dirtied the ceiling. Thought it was just around the light but once we used this product we had to do the whole ceiling because once to started it made the rest look dirty too.. Worked well but did not come with a storage bag.

I had high hopes for these. But they weren’t my favorite. Magic erasers worked better. Maybe it’s because we have a more textured wall. Not sure. But if I leave a candle burning all night again, I’ll probably just buy the magic erasers.

Hopefully you’ll never need these within your lifetime. Unfortunately, I needed these to clean up soot in several rooms. For a task that can be overwhelming, these sponges worked the best I tried another brand that was less expensive but they didn’t clean up the soot as well.

We bought three of these thinking we have a big fireplace and used these to try to wash the dark soot of the gray bricks and it made no difference. Fireplace still looks soiled. It’s an interesting material and I had high hopes for it but now we are stuck with them but it was a good experience to try them out and I’m sure they are probably real good on plain walls to get off soot.

I am a restoration contractor in CA. currently, I am doing restoration in process of fire damaged house. this house has black soot all over the ceiling and wall and anything you can name it. the soot fly to any single items and holes in house all over. furniture, personal items are discarded, but wall and ceiling is the matter to rip off or clean. damage was too big and insurance does not pay all of the restoration to re-drywalling in wall and ceiling. I usually do not clean the drywall, just remove and new drywall. but this house owner decide to us clean the drywall. first we tried 2-3 different chemicals. not working, barely working or useless. i surf and found this dry sponge. this is miracle. just wipe down the wall, it will not completely clean out. but, after wipe down, fingering the wall and nothing touches and left black soot on my finger. amazing. our team split each section and use this sponge and cleaned it out all the ceiling and walls. not that hard, not scrub, not to press wipe, just pass by. this thing works great. after remove the soot with this sponge, we paint the primer which is "Zinser B I N original shellac ultimate primer. $417. at home depot" dry very quickly and recoat also dry so fast. and then paint over the semi gloss, hi gloss, flat sheen paint. this is what our team done the job quick and easy. after use this sponge, wash with mild soap and dry naturally, not under the sunlights. once dry, we use it again and again. total 12 sponges did job done. million % recommend this dry sponge anywhere the fire soot is. contractor approved item.

Doesn’t appear to work very well. But maybe that’s because the smoke/soot on our wood mantel have been there awhile.
