For the price, I can't imagine a much better speaker. They sound good, but not great, in my application. I am running these off an older Clarion head unit, installed in a 30 year old car. They are loud enough for my satisfaction, but they aren't going to blow anyone away. They are lacking in bass and could use some better clarity and separation, but I think that some of my results are due to the installation in the extreme corners of the rear deck under carpet. Also they are top mounted and don't quite fit, making less than an ideal coupling with the mounting surface. When I have time I will move them to mounting underneath and will repost if this improves the sound. I am very satisfied with the construction of these. They seem well built and are clean, with no sloppy construction. They are low profile and use a smaller magnet than the factory originals, so they should fit in many locations. I really like the silk tweeters, as I can't stand harsh highs. Update 11/29/17: After a break-in period these began to sound better and better. I installed a new Pioneer stereo and these speakers came alive! With just 14 watts from the head unit (no additional amps, EQ, etc) they deliver excellent sound on a wide variety of musical genres. I have paired them with a set of 3.5" Boss Audio BOSS Audio BRS35 50 Watt, 3.5 Inch, Full Range, Replacement Car Speaker (Sold individually) and the blend is really really good. I'm changing my rating to five stars.

I got a pair for my dads classic muscle car. I am highly into stereo and didn’t just want to install some crappy speakers even when he said he didn’t care what they were. Needless to say he was blown away how good they sounded. I did hook them to a amplifier.

Speakers are ok for an old stock replacement such as in my 1993 thunderbird. They sound MUCH better than the stock base system speakers. Distortion starts at about 75% of the aftermarket JVC stereo. I’ll be adding a subwoofer where it should take up where these speakers leave room for improvement. Although not the greatest, I would buy again for the price and starter sound system or the person who would just like clearer sound which is mostly what I was looking for at moderate volumes. Later update after some use; these are amazing for the price! If you are not building something that needs to be extremely loud or over the top quality, these are perfect. I adjusted my new head units sound settings, turn amp gain to low, adjusted the equalizer and it produces adequate bass!

I was very skeptical about these speakers. They are nor gonna win any competition but if you want great sounding speakers these are it. I'm running off an old jvc s25 factory speakers in back these in front. Can't wait to buy a pair of these for the rear

I absolutely cannot believe how good these sound for the price. I took a gamble on these, and it paid off. Very crisp and detailed with a good amount of low end. I really love the way snare drums pop, and the guitars really bite. Great speakers, and I'd say better than the kenwoods and pioneers I've owned that cost twice as much. They don't come with anything other than the speakers, so keep that in mind before purchasing if you're new to car audio.

Excellent sound for the price. I'm not running a lot of wattage, and was replacing factory speakers that had been damaged. Ordered 4 of these and they sound great in my 2000 Ford F-250. Plenty of sound for highway noise. I'd definitely order again. I'm running approx 20 watts per channel and I'm 100% pleased. I used to own a stereo shop so my expectations were not over the moon. They were definitely exceeded.
