Question 1

I'm tired of the positive vibes put out by my didgeridoo. Does anyone know where to purchase a didgeridon't?

Accepted Answer

from Austrailiain't

Question 2

Is there anything I need to do about the moisture buildup? My other didge is plastic and it is easy to rinse out. What is the recommended care?

Accepted Answer

You can use some saline spray into it if you worry or mist then use a heat pad or even better if you worry enough a heat gun on low heat. You will not damage the wood if on low heat and control the applied direction. move the heat gun about and do not keep it directed just down into the openings. These are not really likely to develop a mold issue, but there are non toxic sprays or teeatments you can "pour" (diluted?) down into but then....dude...lol, that would just Add moisture into. Just dont worry so much and store the box in a dry place and if need shall arise ,just nuke the damn thing ahahhaha

Question 3

This is my first didge, as far as technique and ability to play, does learning on a travel one translate to being able to use a full sized didge?

Accepted Answer

For the most part, yes. There will always be a different feel to a proper didge, especially one that you’ve formed to your mouth as opposed to a round, drilled hole. That said - this is an excellent one to learn on and practice on. It certainly provides ample back pressure (which is Important, especially when learning) and good sound. I would not recommend a pvc pipe or plastic didgeridoo - these provide almost no back pressure and will be harder to learn on and less enjoyable to play. If you are just learning circular breathing, this is a great start. Is not especially loud, making practicing with it less annoying/audible to others around you and actually has pretty respectable sound characteristics. I have a proper, handcrafted 10-foot long Australian didgeridoo that I consider a finely crafted musical instrument but in all honesty, I play and practice this one more often than that because of the sheer convenience, and relative quiet.
