Great Looking - Well Made Boot - Great Fit
Update 5/26/19: I just bought my second pair of these boots. I still have the original pair and they are super comfortable and have held up well. I decided to purchase another pair even though the originals are still in good shape. There are a few bits of stitching coming loose around the toe seam so I figured I'd pick up another pair now before they ended up being discontinued - plus the price just dropped over $10. This new pair will be used for work and the originals will be downgraded for casual wear on the weekends or when not at work. These are still the most comfortable pair of boots I have ever owned and I am 63 years old and have worn a shoe style boot pretty much my entire adult life. If you like a wide width boot look no further. Original Review: These boots are awesome. They fit perfect, are super comfortable, not too hot in warm weather and look great. I had a pair in black that I got from a local store a few years ago and the finally wore out. I was intent on getting the same pair but could not find them and I searched the net for a long time. Problem was I did not know the model by name. Then I came across these and could tell the were the same model I had before, just not available in black. It took a while before my size was available too since I needed the Extra Wide width. With the EEE width I was able to go with an 11.5 versus 12 inch which makes for a great fit for me. I am so pleased with how the look. I was not sure about the brown, but it's much more of a distressed leather look which I like. I actually like them better than the black ones I owned previously. I wear jeans pretty much all the time, and they go together well. I can only assume they will wear as well as the last pair. If things go south too soon I will update my review. For now though. I can't recommend these enough. Great boot.

Durable, good looking, supportive budget boot.
These boots are a great budget boot. I originally wore out a pair of lowcut Chippewa boots and wanted another pair but they were no longer being made in my size, but these boots were recommended as a similar product. Surprisingly, these boots seemed to hold up much better than the Chippewa boots, but are much cheaper. I am flat footed and heavy but I am active. I am on my feet a lot outside of work and I am on my feet on concrete all day at work. I generally eat through shoes and boots but to my surprise these boots held up for about a year with lots and lots of use. I put more wear into these boots than some others paid a lot less and got a lot more out of them With that said, Good budget boot. These boots have some weight but are not overly heavy. The toe box is comfortable for the most part, not too loose or too tight but could air on the tighter side if you put thick foot inserts inside of them. These boots look good, definitely don't look like a sketchers brand of boot. The support on these boots are great, very strong and sturdy. A chiropractor I saw told me for a big guy if I could bend my shoe (or boot) in the middle easily that they do not have enough support, and with these boots I can only bend them a slight bit without support. I have very wide feet and usually need 4e wide but standard extra wide for these boots work well. Shoe laces are a good length and tighten the boot well. The worst aspect of these boots if I had to choose would be that they are not insulated so they can leave your feet cold come winter time. Other than that these boots are surprisingly good. I am on my second pair and will probably continue to buy these boots again and again for work if they hold up as well as my first pair did.

A decent pair
A good pair of rugged shoes. I like: * fit and finish, overall look * sizing - wide enough I do not like: * the green logo seems out of place, tried to remove it and failed * these are pretty rigid, even after few days of wearing them. Not rigid enough to be uncomfortable though

What's Under The Hood
The pair in the photo was purchased in 2011. The glue failed recently, otherwise this is a great shoe. So great that i ran the model number and found the same exact shoe - 13 years later. I separated the upper from the midsole. All of the stitching was in great shape, the steel shank was still well anchored, the soles are in fantastic shape. I glued them back together with carpenter's contact cement (the glues intended for shoes don't work), and they're back on the road. I bought 2 more pairs to ensure i'll have this model til i'm dead. The hefty sole and steel shank support well enough to prevent/rehab fasciitis in my feet. Not so with running shoes. Boots offer great support, and weigh a ton. These are the best of both worlds. I oil my shoes with mink oil regularly. It darkens them, but it's worth the longevity. The final photo is the new, oiled shoe next to the 13 year old version. I own hand made shoes from Oregon and Vietnam. I love the stitched, leather approach to shoe construction, but cobblers are thin on the ground these days - and they come at a premium. I bought 4 pairs of shoes this go around, and spent less than one pair of handcrafted footwear. Don't pull your shoes off by prying on the soles, it separates the glued upper from the midsole; oil your leather shoes to preserve them; and glue your modern shoes back together when they come apart. Invest the extra cash. :) Like all things fine that the old world enjoyed, lesser materials and expertise have changed the face of craftsmanship. Shoes aren't what they used to be, but this modern version is handsome and durable. Would that we could say the same for art, architecture, manners...

Durable, Comfortable, and Perfect for Work!
The Skechers Men’s Mariner Industrial and Construction Shoes in Dark Brown are exactly what my husband needed for long days on his feet. These shoes are built tough with great durability to handle rough work environments without wearing down. What really impressed him was the comfort level—they have excellent cushioning and support that kept his feet feeling great, even after hours of standing or walking. The fit (8 US) is true to size, and the shoes feel sturdy yet flexible enough for all-day movement. The slip-resistant soles give him confidence on slippery surfaces, and the dark brown color looks sharp enough for casual wear too. Whether you’re in construction, industrial work, or just need reliable tough shoes, these Skechers are a fantastic choice. Highly recommend for anyone needing safety, comfort, and style all in one—definitely five stars!

Unexpectedly high quality
I bought these boots for work. I work in a kitchen where we don't use mats. That means they not only need to be comfortable for up to 12 hours of standing on a tile floor, they need to be easy to clean. I get a great discount on "shoes for crews" and I have a reasonably decent pair, but the non-skid treads on those are so fine that any food falling on the ground gets mashed up and caked into the tread and they are very time consuming to clean. Plus, walking around on cakes of floor-food negates all skid resistance and causes great discomfort, as my tarsals uncomfortably spread every time I put my weight on one foot. This pair of Sketchers boots has a full inch of knobby-tread sole under the ball of the foot. The advantage that gives me comes into play every time I need to enter a dining area and not leave little floor cakes here and there. I have a gait that causes most sole-rubbers to grind away under the big toe after only a couple of months. An $80 pair of Caterpillar boots barely lasts me a year, but these, passed the needle test (measuring how far I can push a sewing needle into the sole to predict hardness and durability). The leather is about a 4/5 on the quality scale. It looks great and breaks in after a couple of hours of initial wear making for not only a comfortable fit, but a very nice looking boot that I would even wear on a date and be confident about my level of dress. The downside of the leather is that it's only 2mm thick with the suede side out. The first time I set foot on a salted winter sidewalk I expect to have permanent white stains along the sides, and winter just showed up. Just a bit of advice, for the person who bought these for kitchen wear and had a problem keeping their footing, whenever you get a new pair of boots with high rubber hardness you may want to take some sandpaper to the bottom of the sole before taking that first step on a slick surface. Also, using a razor blade to cut an X into each knob will go a long way toward increasing your grip.

Shoes are everything they should be but the pricing is questionable
This shoe is the only one my husband will wear for leisure or work. He says they are so comfortable and the fit feels good on his feet so I buy him a new pair every 3 months. However last week when I ordered a new pair advertised on sale for $71.99 , marked down from $85.00, but when I proceeded to pay for them, the cost was $95.00. So if you purchase these shoes beware of the difference between the advertised price and the actual cost.

Really nice shoe, and a style very difficult to get.
You might find it hard to believe but this is the very first time that I buy a pair of shoes online. I usually wear 9½-D and like to try them out at the store. But even this size sometimes does not fit. I guess some manufacturers make sizes slightly bigger (or smaller) than others. So I never even imagined buying shoes online would be a good idea. However, little did I realize that the style I would be looking for would be very difficult to find, even online. I shopped around town believing that I would have no problem going through the stores of this huge mall that we have here. I usually like to old classic lumberjack boot style, but I wanted the 'low boot cut' design, similiar to the one like the Skechers. These are known to be slightly lighter. I could not believe it !! I could not find any. I even went to stores like Academy, and even that "Shoe Carnival". They did not have them. Only Sears had a similiar style, but it was that light tan wheat color which usually stains easily. I wanted a more dark brown color to hide the stains. This caused me to go online, believing that it is there that I would find what I was looking for. And the Skechers immediately popped. They looked great, but I decided to look further to find more similiar styles so I could maybe make a choice. Well - guess what ?? I could not find any. And to this day I have not. I guess I decided to take a risk and order them. And I did. When they arrived, the shoes looked beautiful. They were perfect. They were actually bought to replace some older "shooka" boots that I used exclusively to work around the house. I had beat the crap out of those. It is until their sole broke apart that I decided it was time to look for a new pair. Now it is normal for your feet to get a blister or two as it accommodates to a new pair of shoes. But this was the first pair that I bought of which that did not happen. I was very happy. They are intended to be used for shores around the house. But even I do not want to use them for that. They look so good. So I guess I will use them to go out for a while before I tackle shores around the house. But I am very happy with my purchase. Highly recommend them.

Brilliant piece of functional work of art
I have been wearing these boots for 2 weeks.I have painful bunions on both feet so chose the wide fit. What a well made boot. The boot gave no pain after a 12 hour shift on my feet as a doctor. I customised mine with a thin odour control inner sole more for extra comfort than odour control. Great boot. Sketchers know what they are doing with foot wear. Update on boots. These boots continue to impress. I walked across the Brooklyn bridge from from Brooklyn to Manhattan and the full length of 5th Avenue. No issue, no blisters, no pain. I am considering buying another pair.
