Honeywell 22500 Replacement Air Cleaner HEPA Filter

Excellent fit and results; did not notice any issues with the fit for the Kenmore 437.83236. A good value for keeping older air cleaners in operation. I will definitely order this again. Also, the company (Global Filters) offers a direct sale regular filter replacement program, which I am considering. I recall the program comes with a discount, but I may be wrong about that. Wish I had had this option when the device was new. Only Sears had the filters, and they were pricey$$$$. This was a perfect replacement for our Envirocare air purifier HEPA filter. It fit perfectly inside the casing, with room for the additional black carbon pre-filter (purchased separately), and is already in use. It seems identical to the others we have purchased from Honeywell (in the past), and has no odd odors or "off-gassing" issues. I would happily order from this seller again. The order arrived promptly and was double-boxed to prevent crushing or other damage to the filter.

The replacement filter and prefilter work very well together. I have not had this much circulation since I purchased the Air Cleaner. My advice would be to always use the prefilter with the replacement filter. Thanks Amazon!

First, let me provide the information that could have helped me to avoid making the mistake of buying this filter - Dimension: 8"H x 14"DIA. It otherwise looks fine and that it would work okay (without having any means of testing it). But not in my machine because it's NOT THE RIGHT SIZE!! The diameter was fine but it is exactly 2" too short. I needed 10". The order page has a window to type your HEPA filtration system model number to see if it fits. It said YES, and although there were no specs or dimensions, I believed them and placed the order. I pretty much knew when I saw the box, but I did open the the system and dropped in the replacement filter. Nope. Sent it back. Buyer beware.

Perfect fit replacement for the original, but after a month of use, the chemical smell of new rubber is still not completely gone. Since many of the folks who use these are doing so for allergies, one would hope that the maker would do a better job of keeping irritating chemical fumes to a minimum. If the smell is not gone in the next few days, I will try baking it in my oven while my wife is away from the house to see if I can drive them off.One year update:Baking the filter for a few hours at about 170 degrees F drove off a lot of the smell. Time took care of the rest. By the third or fourth month it was odor free. If I ever get stuck with a "stinker" like this one again I would return it.
