This comes nicely packaged in a zipped bag with the stick separate from 4 very large pads (each 3.25 x 4.25" in size, 1.25" thick). The pad material is like a standard beach flip-flop, but non-porous and very light and firm. A hole in each allows you to insert the stick, and when inserted, the handle still provides about 13" of reach to the start of the pad. So that means, reaching back, you should be able to hit areas up to 17.25" away, pretty much full coverage of anywhere you need to get to. The stick also has a nice curve (visible in their picture) so you can use that as needed.The first thing I used it for was a cream that had a very high menthol content (you know, the really stinky muscle relief cream, but not that brand, something newer and "Nano"). I pulled my back muscles BADLY, excruciating pain, and my wife doesn't like the smell of those stinky creams. She'll help, wearing neoprene gloves, but she wants to get out of there as fast as possible. So this stick came to the rescue. I could glob the stuff onto the pad, and rub it in for a minute or two, even put more on for a second coat. Ahh... relief!The pad is textured too, so it holds the cream and also aids in distributing it across your skin.I worried that the high menthol content would stay permanently embedded in the pad, but at least I had 3 spares in the package. If you just wash it lightly, yes, the scent stays. But with just a little soap and working it across the pad with a little pressure from your fingertips, it scrubs out very easily. A quick rinse, and not one bit of menthol smell left behind. If it can resist absorbing THAT, then it should be good to go no matter what you use it for.The handle seems strong and sturdy, seems like it could be bamboo or beech or maple. They don't really say and I'm not a wood grain expert -- it's just a very hard wood. It also includes a nice rubberize wrap around the handle.Overall a fantastic product! Just what I was looking for, and probably the one you're looking for too.

Great invention! I’ve ha this for over a year and it’s great for applying self tanner on your back; just be sure to use a hand held mirror with your big mirror to see what you’re doing because it does not blend as nicely as if you had it on your hand. But with practice and patience, it works very well. It came with 2 pads/heads, but I’ve never had to change it because the self tanner washes off really nicely each time with soap and water. I also use it for regular lotion for my back all year long. Great idea, great product. Love it 😍 would buy again 😊

Very good /medicinal creams, etc. It is a hard surface, but that is what gets the medicine where you need it to go! Just be careful to apply gently.

This is the best applicator that I have ever had. Easy to clean and reaches the whole back. Wish they had a back scratcher that could interchange would be awesome

I have been looking for something to reach my back for a long time and have tried many back brushes. All were ok but when a friend recommended this one all my problems of reaching my back on all sides were solved. I love this one, it uses pads that are thick, easy to use and clean and reusable many times. It comes with 4 pads and is so easy to use great Product..!!

Product is nice but couldn’t order but one at a time. Also this one was for a gift and it was delivered in the product package with my name & delivery label attached to the package covering the info about the product. I don’t know why the package wasn’t protected.

This lotion applicator works great for applying any type of lotion, oil or cream to your back.

The long handle makes lotion application a breeze. Thin comes with several replacement heads. Makes apply lotion to the upper back, lower banks and back of legs and arms. Great for those with limited mobility.
