Perfect for game streaming
Products: 20m, 15m, 3m White Ethernet CAT 6a cables Primary use case : Streaming games from PC to Steam Deck Previous setup: FTTH, 1Gbps/100Mbps, Frit Box 7530 TL;DR: - These good quality, solid cables live up to the manufacturer's claims. - Upgrading my home network with these, cost less than half the price of a basic Wi-Fi 7 router and achieves better results. - Flawless for streaming games from PC Things to know: - Full size ethernet cables are always going to be better than the flat ones - CAT 6a are by design thicker and more rigid than Cat 5/5e - Cat 6a is capable of up to 10 Gbps up to 100m, most be limited by hardware and will not need a fraction of this, but investing a little extra now will avoid having to swap out cables down the road. Details: I finally decided to wire up my home network and began the search for quality ethernet cables. Iโve used Rhino Cables XLR cable for my microphone for years, so itโs a brand I trusted to get the job done. I just got a steam deck, and I really wanted to stream games smoothly from my gaming PC to the deck both independently and in dock mode. Wifi just wasnโt cutting it for that, too much interference for a consistent experience. I have 1Gbps/100Mbps ftth, using a fritzbox 7530 provided from the ISP. My fibre connection requires an ONT (Optical Network Terminal), which acts as the modem, which then runs to the Fritzbox as an advanced access point/router. Originally, I was just going to purchase a 20m and 15m cable, but I said why not replace the ethernet cable running from the ONT to the router, so I added a 3m for that and Iโm glad I did. My new setup now has the 3m cable from the ONT to Fritzbox, 20m cable to a 2.5Gpbs ethernet port in my pc, and the 15m cable running from Fritz to a 1 Gbps port in my 3rd part steam dock. Results: - Replacing the cable from the ONT to the router instantly improved speeds over Wifi by between 50 to 100 Mbps when testing. Easy, cheap win right there. - The 20m cable has no problem saturating the LAN ports on the Fritzbox. Now achieving download speeds close to 1Gbps, this is more than 3 times what I could achieve over Wifi. - With the router plugged into the steam dock with the 15m cable, I can stream games at 4k60fps, with minimal network latency, and no stutters, even better @ 1440p. The dream. - Even streaming over Wifi now is almost as flawless with the PC wired into the router. Note: these cables are heavy and more rigid than CAT 5e and below by design (mostly extra shielding). This can make them tricky to weave around the house, but with a little patience, itโs nothing to worry about. Basically, thereโs nothing to fault here, these are high quality cables from a manufacturer you can trust. They were perfect out of the box, and live up to the spec (though admittedly I can test them at 10Gbps). I had planned on purchasing a 2.5Gbps unmanaged switch to truly level up my streaming, but saturating 1Gbps does the job perfectly. If youโre disappointed with speeds using these cables, Iโd investigate your hardware first. While they may state 1Gbps LAN, even mid range routers not have the horsepower to deliver this constantly.

Great cables โ bought them in different colours to keep my setup organised
I picked up a few of these CAT 6a cables in different colours so I could colourโcode my network setup, and itโs made life so much easier. Now I can instantly see whatโs going where without having to trace cables or guess which one belongs to which device. The cables themselves feel solid and wellโmade, no cheap thin insulation or loose connectors. They click in firmly, handle 10Gbps without any issues, and the shielding is proper S/FTP, so thereโs no interference even with everything packed together. If you want reliable cables and a cleaner, easierโtoโmanage setup, grabbing these in multiple colours has been a great move for me.

Its good cable...but the plastic clip to lock it in is thin and easily broken.
I like this cable, but the clear plastic clip which locks it in place, is very thin, and looks like it will break very easily. The cable is quite strong and heavy, its coils sit for a while, so the cable hangs off the edge putting pressure on the plug which has pulled it out twice now. So if you have no table support, it could cause problems. I have put some stick clips to hold it down to give it some support. See how that works. Might have to look for something better to hold it and take the weight off the plug socket. Shame, a more flexible lighter cable would have worked better.

Pink cable for my pink room - I love it!
As you can see from the picture I bought this Ethernet cable in Pink purely to match my new pink living room (haven't finished painting the skirting yet!). It's a lengthy cable which it needed to be, as my router is in the next room, but this provides good connectivity and high speeds. It was a good price, and good quality cable. It was extremely easy to set up, plug one end in the router, and the other end in the PC, and job done! Looks great <3

Great Quality shame the multi colour wires are all white
Good quality cable with individually foil screened 2 wire sets inside cable. Only negative for me is that the 4 white and other colour cables are all white so you have to mark them individually when untwisting unless prepared to keep track as you unwind them, I guess more professional operators would untwist them in the order they are needed but I had to start again after my initial attempt as ended up with 4 white unidentifiable cables. If you are using the cable with pre attached plugs not a problem.

Worth a bit extra to avoid cheap quality
I picked up this 2m cable for my home network setup. I have used rhinocables a few times over the years because their products just work and tend to be quite durable. You can certainly find many cheaper cables out there, but you have to be careful. A lot of the budget options use lower quality wire and cheap connectors that either break or degrade your connection over time. This Cat 6a cable is well-constructed, and the clips feel sturdy. I also like supporting them as they are a UK-based company, which gives a bit more peace of mind regarding quality control. Since plugging it in, my connection has been completely stable, and I have not experienced any drop-outs whilst gaming or streaming. It is simply a reliable Ethernet cable that does exactly what you need it to do.
