Superb value, especially after a little easy modification.
By way of reference, I also have an HTD Level-3 box subwoofer in another room to compare with. I have two of these, wired series/parallel for a total load of 8-ohms, and they're remarkably good value if you install them well. Like all in-wall subwoofers, they need a solid wall. I have mine mounted in a wall faced with 3/8" OSB and then a layer of 1/2" sheetrock, with sound damping glop between the two. I spent some time to add a thick layer of sealant to the basket (frame) on the back, as well as a randomized pattern of same on the magnet back. That made these go from 'quite good', to 'very impressive', especially for the very low price. I'm powering them with a class-D amp with a realistic output of around 100W (advertised as a lot more of course) and they add a lot to a movie soundtrack. They're not going to plumb the depths that a $1k box sub could deliver, but for an extremely discreet and very cost effective speaker, they're perfect for a normal living room setup, especially coupled with 8" ceiling speakers, which need that extra bit of bottom end to bring action movies to life.

Pretty decent
Sounds good and was pretty easy to install, seems well built, I doubt I'll ever get a call back from the customer I bought this for. Handles what it says it will power wise. Blends into the ceiling well and looks good.

Surprisingly good for the pricepoint
I was surprised by the bass output of this guy given his price. From my standpoint, worth it. If you're trying to build a room system on the cheap, add some better sound to a kid or teens room, or do something along the whole house lines, this is really an economical buy that could partner well with some ceiling speakers and make listening better than that $40-50 bluetooth speaker you planned to buy. A ceiling 8" costs about the same as this sub, so two ceilings and this sub and that's about the price of two cheap bluetooth speakers, but would be an improvement. I should note, that I like wired here and didn't need a wireless application, so I can understand folks using the bluetooth for those purposes.

Day late dollar short
I have a few in wall speaker by Pyle and they sound amazing - but this sub, I was weary to buy it cuz, c'mon - an in wall sub... How good can that sound right? Well this one particularly, I've had it for about 4 months now and finally got it hooked up just now. I ordered a 80w sub amp to push this 350w sub.. It started off good until I tried to level it with the existing speakers (too quiet) when I got to a decent mix between mids and the sub well that sub started shaking and rattling like it was already blown but it's not blown - it's just the plastic casing around the speaker and it doesn't help that the magnet is loose under the plastic. I know a little about speakers and I'm sure the magnet shouldn't be loose..All in all, now I have a hole in my wall where I want a sub to go but it is too late now to return it even though I was my first day... Live and learn. I still like their products cuz I'm betting if I could have returned it for a new one it probably would have been fine.. Might have just been defective. Who knows

Very pleased.
Thing thumps with a 100w amp! Had to modify the grill just a bit so it would not pop out with all the boooom. Very pleased.*update*Grill still popping out. Earthquaking bass collapsed my neighbors dog house. Now I have a disgruntled neighbor and have made a canine enemy. Wall shaking vibrations have thrown all the pictures off our walls and popcorn texture rains down from ceiling. Watched the dark night last week and the cops showed up because a "war zone" was reported going on in my house. Still trying to figure out how to keep grill attached. Thinking I'll leave it out and just hide the speaker behind the piles of rubble it creates.

Full of unwanted rattles
This speaker is unusable for me. It installed nicely and looks great. The speaker itself puts out some nice bass and sounds good. However even at a moderate listening level the grill rattles. The included glue strips hold the grill in securely. Problem is the metal grill itself catches too much air and flexes back and forth vibrating. Also even without the grill the plastic housing rattles between the drywall at higher volumes. I think this could be fixed with some silicone or foam gasket. Bottom line is I have to replace it. It's unacceptable.

Okay
This matched a pair of speakers eold by the same company that literally had no bass. Adding this speaker to the pair, was a necessary evil, but lacks the range and thump I had hoped for. I will say that they are easy to install in a drop ceiling, and the sound quality is good for the price.

Great Passive Sub
Just remember it's a Passive sub and all is fine. Got mine hooked up in my garage to a cheap Audiosource bridged amp and it will shake things off my workbench if I want. You will need an amp to make this work it's not a plug and play single wire unit like most home theater systems have.
