This ear plug is the very best folks. BE PATIENT WITH THEM...You won't regret it!...read my suggestions: I have used foam plugs my entire life (I'm 47 now), and they worked well until my left ear canal developed some issues that made even the softest of the foam ones too difficult to use, just too painful. And I developed tinnitus a few years back due to prescription drug use (I of course stopped taking the drug, please be careful of prescription drug side effects folks, they're poison!), so I became even more sensitive to sound, even avoiding theater movies. Really began impacting my life too much. I tried this brand a couple years ago at a concert, and could not get them in my ear properly. I was very disappointed, had to revert back to another brand of foam plugs, and ended up leaving the concert due to some notes just being too piercing for my now-sensitive ears, and due to huge discomfort in my left ear canal from the foam. I decided to try this brand again, since I had no choice due to the discomfort of the foam ones, and really spent some time with them the day of a concert; I warmed them in my hand, and molded them with my fingers for a long time, so that a quarter to half-inch (maximum) of the material went IN my ear canal (just a very short ways in) and then spread/smoothed the remaining material around the rest of the outside of the ear canal (the area that leads to the ear canal, referred to as the "external auditory meatus" and the "concha") so that a big blue clay smeared blob filled the entire entrance area to my ear canal. I spent a solid 20 minutes with multiple attempts, when finally...BINGO...I got an air-tight seal, a seal where one can tell there is a pressure difference (and where you then have to make sure you remove them very slowly because of that air-tight seal). KEEP SMOOTHING THEM IN THE EAR CANAL AND EXTERIOR WITH YOUR FINGERS; you'll get the hang of it and experience the air pressure difference at a certain point...then you know they're IN. So I spent the time, a solid ten minutes, to put one of these in my bad ear, and used a foam one in the other for a concert last night. These *unquestionably* blocked more sound (and the foam ones had the *highest sound blocking rating on the market*). During the intermission, I took the foam one out and spent the 20 minute break working the other one in my ear, and finally GOT it. JUST TAKES PRACTICE FOLKS. And the sound blocking was the best I ever experienced in my life now in both ears. Please note that sound will penetrate your skull folks, do not expect to hear NOTHING. But you will get the best blocking you can get to the entrance into your ear canal with these plugs. I'm big on leaving positive reviews when they're deserved. This is a GREAT product for those who really need serious sound blocking, like at concerts. The blocking does not reduce the enjoyment of the music, but does completely eliminate the discomfort of loud sound/noise. REMOVE THEM SLOWLY, gently, to avoid discomfort from the powerful air pressure issue. I just pull on various parts of my ear gently looking for a little pressure release in my ear canal; when it happens, then I know I can pull them out. You'll feel it happen. Yes, a little of the blue wax/clay stuff gets under your fingernail or two, it's just a tiny bit messy, but no big deal at all, and certainly worth the sound blocking power. The stuff stays intact, I did not experience any other issues with it falling apart. AGAIN: SPEND TIME WORKING WITH THEM. You'll be glad you did, and will find these to be the best sound-blockers there are. Great product. :)

Mighty Plugs beeswax ear plugs are absolutely excellent in every way. Motorcycle riders (and others who may be exposed to excessive, continuous low frequency sound), please read on. Since my ears are overly sensitive to loud sounds, especially lower frequencies, I need to attenuate incoming sound as much as possible to prevent ear pain and further hearing damage when riding motorcycles. Foam ear plugs alone no longer provide adequate attenuation for me, and over the ear muffs of course cannot be used when wearing a motorcycle helmet. A solution I have found is to first insert top-quality foam ear plugs into the ear canals (as deeply as possible, without touching the eardrum), then apply Mighty Plugs beeswax plugs over the foam plugs, filling pretty much the entire concha of each ear (area just in front of the entrance to the ear canal). If both sets of plugs are fitted correctly, an extremely high sound attenuation level is achieved while allowing use of a motorcycle helmet. Adding the Mighty Plugs beeswax plugs over the foam plugs is a serious game changer and seems to nearly double the attenuation performance, versus using just foam plugs alone. The Mighty Plugs beeswax plugs are very easy to use and stick really well. I find they can be reused very many times before starting to lose their ability to adhere adequately. One trick I use is to fully wipe down the concha area of my ears with a small disposable alcohol pad just prior to inserting the plugs. This ensures the concha is entirely clean, removing any sweat, cerumen and/or skin oils that would otherwise cut down on the ability of the beeswax plugs to adhere well. When storing my Mighty Plugs, I keep the case in a dark area, inside a ziplock bag, which prevents any potential deterioration from atmospheric conditions. I have a full case of these plugs that I had purchased two years ago and they are still like new, soft, sticky, zero deterioration. When riding motorcycles, I find the Mighty Plugs will remain reliably in place for at least two hours. Beyond that, due to heat, sweat and movement while riding, sometimes they will start to loosen ever so slightly. But I strongly suggest removing both sets of ear plugs at least once every two hours anyway to give your ear canals a breather. While this dual ear plug system achieves a very high degree of overall attenuation, important sounds such as sirens, car engines etc can still be easily heard. One's ears adjust to the attenuation and recognizable sounds are still easily detected, thus there is no safety issue, contrary to common assumption. I have used these for 15 years. I kept buying them. Long story short, early in my marriage I found out I am a super sensitive light sleeper. Like I can hear vehicles driving or people talking outside closed windows about 2 city blocks away. My spouse has severe sleep apnea, and due to not sleeping i formed insomnia, depression and almost lost my job and caused huge marital problems. These earplugs after I tried sleep aids, and about 30 earplugs brands saved everything. They seal out more noise then all others. Don't press into your ear canal causing nausea, and are made of a natural material that is not uncomfortable to sleep on. I will be buying these forever basically. Tips, make sure to soften them in your fingers before use. Gently press them into your ear, across your ear. They can create a huge amount of pressure in your ear from the seal so when you push them in do it gently with even pressure not just your thumb. When they are sealed and you need to remove them be careful. Grab a corner of them and slowly peel them back, as the seal is so great you can cause ear drum pain, or even hearing damage. You can tell when you need new ones as they will feel greasy, and ,/or be cracked and not that pilable like old play dough. They also won't sealed well and keep falling out. You will get blue in your ears from these, so make sure to use something to clean your eyes or people will tell you haha. They are pricey but a quality of life upgrade.

(I am the wife of the purchaser indicated here, for what it's worth.) I am cursed with Princess and the Pea hearing. During the day, I hear every word of all the conversations in neighboring offices. I can distinctly hear a phone ring on the other side of a large college campus building and know whose phone it is from the tone. It's part acute hearing, part acute audio processing, and all TOTALLY ANNOYING. More important, at night, I wake up if a squirrel farts in a tree outside. OK, minor overstatement, but house creaking, dogs walking, husband snoring, cars driving by, young daughter dreaming--all these things prevent me from falling asleep, and then once biology forces me to pass out, these things wake me several times a night. I have spent years, seriously, like at least twenty years, miserable and unrested because of it. Ear plugs are the obvious solution, but I also have tiny ear canals -- the kind that have caused doctors my whole life long to ask, and then ask again, disbelievingly, whether I have tubes in my ears. (I don't.) I am completely unable to use any kind of foam ear plugs, no matter how small. It is utterly impossible to roll anything up and insert it into my ear canals. I have also tried the silicone type that are similar to these wax ones, but they just don't stay in very well and they lose their stick right away, and for some reason I have found them uncomfortable and a little frustrating. Having reached the point of thinking I was going to have to move into my own apartment, preferably subterranean, away from my family and pets, in order to get some sleep, I finally decided to give ear plugs one final try, and I splurged on these. THEY WORK LIKE FREAKING MAGIC. This material is far superior to silicone. They soften to a much better consistency for pressing into the outside of the ear, and they remain sticky for much longer, so they stay in and seal out the sound all night long. They are actually comfortable. With my tiny ears, I actually tear just one in half and use half in each ear, and it works perfectly. I don't get the uncomfortable ear pressure that I for some reason do with the silicone ones that don't work as well anyway. I hardly feel them! The decibel reduction is amazing. It isn't quite artificial deafness, but the snoring and dogs scratching at the door are so faint and far away that I can not only sleep through it, I can actually fall asleep while it is going on. I cannot hear the busy street outside my window at all. I. SLEEP. THROUGH. THE. NIGHT. The only drawback to these is that they do indeed leave a little blue smudge on your pillowcase if you are a side sleeper. The solution is to invest in a beautiful new set of dark colored linens. You'll want and deserve them for your newfound joy of sleeping anyway. Honestly, I'd give these six stars if I could. Ten. These earplugs have made it possible to sleep through the night after twenty years of wanting to cry every morning after a fitful night of being disturbed by the swirling of stardust in an adjacent galaxy. I hope they work as well for you.

I have to sleep in a high noise location. I have tried just about everything available for noise reduction, and have found that things that give noise reduction of NRR32 or higher work great and allow me to sleep, but if you go much lower than that I cannot sleep. Foam earplugs give NRR32, and work great for letting me sleep. The problem is with foam earplugs I get an earache after a couple of hours, and have to remove them. Good quality ear muffs give up to NRR34, and they are fantastic for blocking sounds/noises. The problem is they are very bulky, so it is difficult to sleep with ear muffs on. Soft moldable silicone earplugs are very comfortable to wear, and I can easily wear them all night. The problem is they are only NRR22 - NRR23, and do not do an adequate job of allowing sleep in a high noise environment. Beeswax earplugs are very comfortable to wear, like the moldable silicone earplugs. However, just like the moldable silicone plug they are only NRR22 - NRR23, and do not allow me to sleep in a high noise environment. When I saw the ad for the "World's finest ear plugs" I wondered why they cost almost 10 times as much as other beeswax/cotton/lanolin earplugs. At the time I bought these "World's Finest Ear Plugs" they were boldly advertised to have NRR34. I notice that the ad no longer states that, but in multiple question/answers BPI does say these are NRR34. If these truly delivered NRR34, then to me they would be worth 10x the price of other beeswax/cotton/lanolin earplugs. So.... I bought these outrageously priced things and gave them a try. Folks, do not be tricked into buying these. These are not one bit better than any of the other beeswax/cotton/lanolin earplugs that are available at a fraction of the cost. At best, these are NRR23, just like all other similar earplugs, and not anywhere near the NRR34 the company is telling lies about. I contacted BPI by email after trying these plugs for a few days. At first they insisted I must be using them wrong, and they repeated the exact same instructions I was using with the earplugs in the first place. I contacted them again, telling them outright that they were telling lies about these being NRR34, and that I wanted to return the product since it BPI is using false advertisement. They sent me a somewhat confusing email that said they would send me a USPS return label, and then later in the email saying that I would have to contact Amazon to get a refund. I contacted them again, again saying they were telling lies about NRR34 and asking for the USPS label, and they insisted that I would have to get my refund through Amazon. At no time (no time!) did they deny they were telling lies about NRR34. I ended up contacting Amazon and getting a refund on this product, even though the refund is supposed to come from BPI since they are the seller and Amazon is only fulfilling the order. Beware! This product is wildly overpriced, and is no better than any other beeswax/cotton/lanolin earplugs that are available at a fraction of the cost. Do not believe the NRR34 claim; that is nothing but a lie.

I can be very noise sensitive and these work very well. they are a thick putty that you roll around to heat up and soften up, then squish into the outer area of your ear for silence. their sound reduction is excellent. they are durable and reusable. they stay in if you're sleeping and don't stick out and won't fall out of your ears while you sleep. if you are sensitive to things in your ear canal (the foamies) these are the ones for you. I keep sets of these around because they are great for long term quiet and are super comfortable and extremely effective. NRR 34 is the highest rating possible (its in decibels). the only way to go higher is to then get a pair of external ear muffs (think industrial leafblowing or something) and then put that on with these in your ears. --works great for the jackhammer next door if you're in a migraine headache. :D (jet plane flying overhead, what jet plane flying overhead?) 'world's finest' outrank any other wax/putty type in terms of quality, comfort and best noise reduction in my book. they putty has sort of a fibrous quality if you tear them apart, but only when you deform them that way, otherwise they are a smooth putty with a good skin feel. why a star off? they're expensive. also, if you need to pull them out quick to hear something or someone, its a bit of work, and then to reseat them back in. but by and large they're excellent and now that I've found them I will always have them on hand.

These are truly a life saver! I’m a light sleeper so I need it cool, dark and quiet to sleep. These are THE best ear plugs I’ve ever used.

I like the basic idea of the ear plugs. I use them at work where we are in an open area and share a common area. If I can get the suction correct, the sound of the others does become muffled so, I am happy with the results. However, The waxy substance when molding gets on my hands so after I insert the plugs I have to go to the restroom to wash my hands. I worry about my ears breaking out because they come in direct contact with the ear plugs for an extend period of time. With that being said, I can wear these ear plugs for several hours without discomfort. Getting them out can be a bit annoying and the product does not always stay together well, and I worry about leaving residue in my ears and the substance has a tendency to stick to my hair or get caught in it so I have to be careful to remove it without leaving any hair in the ear plug. Overall, I am not sure I would purchase again if I could find something that works as well and without the waxy feeling. But, I am not totally disappointed and feel the ear plugs work well.

Ja, sie sperren jedes Geräusch aus und ja, sie formen sich ideal an das jeweilige Ohr an. ABER: Fühlt sich an wie Knete und wenn man es dann endlich aus dem Gehörgang gepult hat, hat man lange Zeit das Gefühl, dass Reste im Ohr verblieben sind. igitt. Schlussendlich ist es ja nun aber so, dass man mit diesen Dingern immer die Wahl hat zwischen Teufel und Beelzebub. Entweder man nimmt Modelle, die nicht dicht sind und man wird wegen des Schnarchens von nebenan doch noch wach, oder sie fallen gleich raus und man sucht dreimal die Nacht nach den flöten gegangenen Ohropaxen.... oder man beisst halt in den halbsauren Apfel und kauft diese blauen Dinger. Die tun wenigstens, was sie sollen. UND halten ewig und drei Tage, wie es aussieht... an dem Problem mit den Wachsresten im Ohr arbeite ich noch :-)

The BEST ear-plugs. PERIOD. Due to a heavy snoring spouse I feel like tried pretty much every ear plug in the UK with little to no success until I originally discovered these on the internet (I used to order them direct from the manufacturer in the U.S.). I have been using them for 8 or 9 years now and would never swap. The only time I use an alternative is for swimming, not because these don't keep out water, but because I find they don't last as long when exposed to the pool chemicals as the cheaper Boots silicone ones, which will do the job for the pool. But for ultimate comfort and noise reduction sleeping (or doing anything non-swimming pool related) these ear plugs are exemplary. No hot, itchy, sweaty ears. I often wake up and forget I haven't taken them out - and to me that is the sign of a good ear plug. I put it down to the fact that they are all-natural and just assimilate to your body better because of that fact. Yes, they are expensive but they are worth EVERY PENNY. Who can put a price on good sleep? I know I can't. Plus I find I can use one pair for around a month or more before they shrink enough to not be as effective (I guess our bodies must absorb moisture from them whilst wearing them so they shrink and gradually harden). If you didn't build a picture already I couldn't recommend these more highly! The one time I forgot to take on a trip I literally went into a state of depression. Yep, that good. Perhaps I'm now an addict, ear plugs anonymous. But hell, I can live with it. A+++ P.S. You might want to use a cotton bud to make sure you haven't got any bits of blue in the inside and outside of your ear canal after use, unless you don't mind a wee dose of Star Trek you about you that is (which I don't). Most of the time the plugs will go in and come out as clean as a whistle but occasionally they will leave a little bit or my other half will say, "ere, you've got a touch of blue ear". Better than glue ear I reckon...

These are amazing earplugs. They block out everything. They're so comfortable too. Foam earplugs always irritate my ear canal but these don't at all. I use them to sleep every night. While they seem expensive, keep in mind you can reuse one pair for about a month. I wish I knew about these sooner!
