A neat and reliable sensor that works with the FRITZ!Smart Gateway
The Philips Hue Motion sensor (indoors) came installed with firmware version: 2.53.6. It was paired with a FRITZ!Smart Gateway with OS 08.26. Pairing was successful. With the FRITZ!Smart Gateway the motion detection, temperature measurement, and brightness (lux) measurement are supported. The sensor cannot be customised by the Gateway nor will be Gateway uses any specialist features of the sensor. It is neat and reliable. It has a magnetic back for mounting on suitable metallic surfaces. It works with two AAA batteries. I am pleased with the purchase.

Reliable performance
The Philips Hue Motion Sensor is a great addition to any smart home, especially if you're already using Hue lights. It’s small, blends well with any room, and is super easy to set up. Just connect it to the Hue app, and you're good to go. You can customise it to control lights based on movement and even adjust the settings for different times of day. The motion detection is quick and reliable, with a good range. Plus, it only turns on the lights when it's dark, which helps save energy. It's battery-powered, and the batteries last a long time – up to two years. Overall, it's a solid choice if you want hands-free control of your Hue lights. Much better than all the other options, you get what you pay for.

Overpriced but brilliant
I bought this to use as a motion sensor to trigger my lights and it works. Can't say much more about other than it works, every time. A bonus is that it reads the light level (in lumens) so the light will only turn on when required, and it also gives a temperature reading. Like all Hue products it is expensive to buy, but worth it for the reliability and quality. It is not very big at about 2" square, so is unobtrusive, and the mounting system is brilliant in it's simplicity. I liked it so much I have since bought 2 more, and may well increase that as time goes on - who needs light switches !!

First step into home automation. Worthy buy!
So far I'm happy with my purchase of this motion sensor. I'm using it to control the downstairs lights depending on either; motion after sunset OR when the room reaches a level of darkness (and I'm home) to turn on the lights. I didn't actually realise it was as small as it is, so it's barely noticeable when placed on the wall. Setting up was quick and easy via the hue app. You basically turn on the sensor, then in the app add a new accessory, and it will find it - pretty simple. I did knock off a star due to the lack of settings the app provides to really fine tune how you want the sensor to work, in the end I chose to set it up using HomeKit and a third party app that feeds into HomeKit. For those that may miss it, on the setup screen where you select the times, lights, etc - there is an option at the bottom, it doesn't look like a button, just some bold text that says 'Setup in Apple Home'. Using these external apps, I was able to fine tune exactly when and how my lights turn on in the house and everything works exactly as I wanted. Definitely looking for ideas in the future on how to get more out of it with other clever automations. The sensor itself covers about 5 meters outwards from its housing, so not loads, but good enough for most rooms. It shows 3 parameters (in HomeKit) for you to set automation around: Temperature, Motion & Light levels (measured in Lux). This allowed me to: 1. Have the lights come on with any motion in the house, after sunset - basically when I return home and it's dark in the house, the lights turn on when I enter. This ends at sunrise. 2. Measure the lux amount in the room, when it passes a certain number AND I am present in house, it will turn on the lights. This starts 2 hours before sunset, and ends at sunrise. Once you understand the logic required, and how to achieve your desired outcome, it's smooth sailing. Bonus tip: The frame around my front door is steel, this means I could literally attach the magnet/motion sensor too the wall without sticky tape or screws. May not apply to everyone, but worth a check!

simply brilliant
If this little gadget had a personality, it would be that reliable friend who always turns the lights on for you—because that's exactly what it does. No more blindly stumbling into walls or kicking the coffee table in a heroic effort to reach the light switch. My home is now the VIP lounge of convenience, and I owe it all to this tiny motion-detecting wizard. Setup? A breeze. Sensitivity? Spot-on—I once sneezed, and it turned the lights on (okay, not really, but you get the point). And let's talk about its reaction time: it detects motion faster than my cat realizes I’m opening a can of tuna. Honestly, I think the Philips Hue Motion Sensor might be smarter than me. It knows when I’m moving before I even do! 10/10 would recommend for anyone who enjoys effortless lighting and fewer bruised shins.

Excellent Product
Excellent indoor sensor for the smart home. We run this on Home Assistant through Zigbee2MQTT using a SMLIGT SLZB-06 coordinator without any issues. The motion detection is accurate and instant, along with the lux sensor which is great for creating dynamic lighting automations that don't simply rely on sunset or fixed times. There is also a temperature sensor within this device, which is great, but it isn't the most accurate. It is usually 1 or 2 degrees out in my experience, but I am not going to put it down for this, as it isn't advertised as a temperature sensor and therefore I don't expect it to behave like one. Don't forget that in terms of the Zigbee network, this is an end device. End devices must be placed near the coordinator or a Zigbee router that can help it reach the coordinator. If you are experiencing connection issues it is quite likely that your Zigbee mesh is poorly designed, and needs more routers to strengthen the mesh. Routers are usually wired Zigbee devices that run on mains power and require a neutral. Overall, this is a high quality product that I would recommend to anyone interested in indoor motion detection.

Works great.
We pair this with a hue light strip and a hue smart button in a laundry area. It’s really handy to switch on the light in the room when going in and out with hands full of stuff, so much so we hardly use the smart button any more. We really like how it’s hands free and then switches off after a couple of mins when no movement detected. Only the smallest of movements is necessary to reactive the light, so no exaggerated waving of arms needed as with some other sensors I’ve used in the past. Small and compact. We attach ours via a magnet to the side of a fridge next to the door so it picks us up immediately the door opens. Simple to set up and use.

Great if you have Hue bulbs!
Really happy with these. Small, quick set up and the fine tuning in the app was great Put one in the kitchen one in the bedroom set them up in the Hue app and it all works together in Apple Home. There was a bit of tinkering involved to get the motion and light sensor to how I wanted it as different rooms had different requirements. But the app was great for that. Just remember to not only press done but press save as well as I missed that a couple of times. Once that was set up I could then set light schedules. Depending on what time you entered the room. So the kitchen has brighter lights throughout the darker evening or night. But later on in the night they are slightly dim. So you can control those preferences together with the Hue bulbs. The magnetic mounting was very handy indeed as we could trail them in different areas until to your liking Very pleased with these.

Werkt echt heel goed

Its ok
It works very sensitively as a motion sensor. However, its daylight detection is very poor. I’d even go so far as to say it doesn’t work at all.
