Can you scroll through the recordings and delete certain ones, like if you wanted to delete loop 1, 4 and 7 for example?

Yes you scroll to the one you want to delete and press main button for maybe two seconds. Easy to delete I sure have needed to to get a nice loop going.

is this a single tap on and off unit or do i have to tap twice to turn it on or off? This is a simple question but I doubt if I'll get an answer.

One selects the track channel by pressing the smaller buttons. If there is data/music in the channel, then >tappingpress and holdingdouble tappress and hold< deletes the contents of the channel. I haven't used the unit a lot, but the above is from the instructions. It does seem intuitive when in use. I hope this helps.
