Replacement turn out had a rail that was broken free from the plastic bedding but I was able to save it and still get it to work. beats waiting and can't really tell.

Works fine - took a while to get to me
It took awhile for this piece to finally get to me. When it did, it worked fine. I was concerned because the right one I bought took 3 tries to get a working one.

Poor design, but it can be made to work
Its part of the track which is a *toy* and *toys* are supposed to be assembled by a kid or a non-technical adult. This one was my 4th turnout after 3 previous failed to work. But Bachmann's support is unresponsive, and there's nothing electronically complex in model trains, and I am an electronic engineer. So I decided to reverse-engineer the circuit diagram, did some troubleshooting, and got it to work in less than 30 min. So now I can attest, if the turnout is not mechanically deficient, it can be fixed :) Anyone, who is desperate to make it work, send me a question and I will gladly help. However, my rating is still 3, because a venerable company like Bachmann, should not use cheap design which upsets children and parents.
