When I first tried to use this I let the chick "fall" to crack the egg. It didn't work very well. Then I gave it some pressure and whacked the egg with it. It's perfect every time. I bought more and amgiving them as gifts.

I’ve been using these now for about five months I lift the weigh to the top and let it drop twice and it cuts the top of the egg perfectly… I was considering purchasing a very expensive German made one and I’m very glad they purchased this one because it works perfectly there’s no reason to purchase the over priced German-made one.

I was searching for this type of product and this one looked fun and promising. It works great for boiled eggs. To find a way with raw eggs it took a few trials. Overall very satisfactory and pleasant to look at when using.

The weight does not detach a top circle, but shatters the egg making a mess. Simply does not work as well as the simpler soft boiled egg scissors, which work every time.

I find if you put a little pressure on the egg it works better. Also, instead of letting it drop, I will put a little wxtra force into it and it works amazing.

This is a very high quality product (something not always found in products originating from China). However, because the product DOES come from China, the instructions for use of the product are sparse at best. It required a bit of experimentation to finally get clean scoring of the shell on a consistent basis (I believe it took me close to a dozen eggs before I started getting a clean and consistent cut on the egg shell). Once operation of the tool is mastered, it provides a clean cut each and every time that it is used.

This egg topper is absolutely perfect. Quite nice looking on the table also. Worked every time by gravity. The little chick bird is quite cute. 5 star!!!!

I purchased this to make a craft for Mother’s Day! I cannot tell you how easy this was to use and saved me an incredible amount of time. Please see the photos of items we made. It was so fun and every egg top came off perfectly. I am also using this for soft cooked eggs. It’s a fabulous little gadget!!

I found that that it works best by dropping the 'bird' a couple times and then twist it to basically cut the shell. 5 stars would be if it worked after the first drop. Fairly happy with it's effectiveness and the fun design.
