Works great! Does exactly what I needed it to do

I originally bought the purple, & somehow it bent. So, I bought the gray. It works well for recording phone calls that don't require the mic. Leaving the mic open, causes unwanted feedback on the recording. I will buy another soon.

Bought a 5 pack. Laptop 1 (Acer): No change, device still uses internal mic, but the mic-bloc cuts out the speakers, so I can't block the mic without losing the ability to watch a movie or do youtube, etc. Laptop 2 (HP): Mic-block works, but by completely killing the recording function of the laptop. As soon as you plug it in, the laptop stops recording, firing off a recording error message. They look nice though. I'm not saying they won't work for everyone, quite possible with some windows tweaking, and maybe depending on drivers etc on your laptop possibly they could work fine. Update Feb 4th, 2019 - The owner of the company, Ric, reached out to work with me on the issues I was having, and has offered some awesome alternative suggestions that look like they will help. That is great personalized customer service, I've changed my rating to 5 stars based on this. The customer experience is important and they really came through for me. Thanks Ric!

I thought it would just block my office laptop from listening 👂🏼 to my conversations but it actually turned off the volume completely. So I wouldn’t hear 👂🏼 calls or messages which if that’s what I wanted I would’ve just put it on mute. 🔇

Worked great on Android 7, but when tried on an Android 8 phone it didn't block anything. In addition tried on several computers and some older models it worked but most new systems it wouldn't block anything. I'm not a electronic wiz by no means, but when the advertisement says it works on all smartphones, tablets, computers, I would think someone would have tested it first to ensure the advertisements were indeed true. The manufacturer or whomever made this bold statement should rework the wording to ensure customers are not sold something that has not been tested and approved for their specific electronic device.

Tested it and it will work to block malware from listening in over your cell phone. I've not tested it yet on laptops yet, but I've ordered another 10. You do have to remember to take it out when placing or making a call. My Iphone still rings so I know a call is coming in, but you will not be able to speak and the other person hear you, nor hear them until the jack is removed. Spyware is cheap and easy to acquire, most people have download so many free apps, and not read the terms and conditions, they are not aware they have allowed these free apps to use their mic, camera, and GPS. This handy device fakes that a mic and headphone is in use. This will not be useful on smartphones with no mic/headset jack.

Have been having potential problems every since using this. Item does not come with paper instructions, they just show up on your device about a day after plugging it in. Instructions inform you to test device by trying to record yourself with it plugged in. Now I am getting all kinds of phone calls and notices that my passwords need to be changed because they are too easy to figure out. Some passwords erased. I don't know if this is related to what the product does but it is really creepy. Also, my laptop was hacked, which was already happening, but this time the hackers were openly making fun of me.

Excellent product that just perfectly works in laptops, iMac and mobile phones. The mic-lock is well built and uses quality materials. On some devices it will stick out a bit but doesn’t affect it working. Highly recommended

I plugged the unit to my smartphone. The smartphone is supposed to believe there is an external microphone connected and disable the built-in microphones. To validate this I recorded a video with the Mic-Lock properly plugged. When I played back the video all the sound was there. I tried several times and it never blocked the microphones. Conclusion: Does not work as expected.
