Professional Program and Easy to Use
Very easy program to use. I do recommend viewing the videos on Youtube to get the hang of the program. I had to make a slide show for our volunteer ambulance squad. It was a hit. It was worth the money. I am going to make a prresentation of all the family photos. 5 stars !!!!!

Excellent program, not convinced about subscription model
I've used Cyberlink's PowerDirector for several years now and I think the program itself is excellent. It nearly rivals Adobe's Premier Pro which I used to use. As a hobbyist, I'm just not that fond of subscription programs. It's generally too high a cost for people who aren't actually making money off the video editing they do. Mostly, I make my own personal videos, edit family videos for myself and family members and do ocassional video editing for local non-profit community events all of which don't pay me anything. As such the cost of a continued subscription based software isn't for me. Though I've chosen to try this for one year I'll gladly revert back to Cyberlink's standalone perpetual license software when this is done. Curently that would be Power Director 20. You can get it in the Ultimate version or the Ultra. The Ultimate version offers nearly everything that subscription does except that you don't have access to as much royalty-free stock images/videos/sounds/etc. Otherwise feature wise it's about the same. The program itself whther you use the 365 subscription or their perpetual license versions is great. The user interface is good and realatively easy to understand. It has a lot of similarities in features and layout to adobe Premier so if your switching over from adobe to cyberlink, it wouldn't be a very hard transition. For absolute beginners to video editing, the program is easy enough to get into and start working with but more advanced features have a bit of a learning curve, nothing a few tutorials and some practice wouldn't solve though. There are lots of tutorials available to help guide people through using the program to make really great videos. I really love the new masking features which make many editing tasks so much easier for me in the more creative projects I attempt. Object detection and AI sky replacement are also really cool and fairly easy to use.In terms of cost this is less than $5/month which is actually pretty reasonable for a subscription service especially if you compare to adobe's Premier Pro at about $20/month. If you don't mind subscriptions where you only have access to the program when you have an active subscription this would be pretty reasonable and get you access to the program (plus royalty free assets) for almost 1/2-1/3 of the cost of the perpetual license versions. Personally I'd rather own a version I can continue using without worrying about subscriptions but this is pretty affordable and for some the access to the more advanced features and royalty free stock library might make it well worth the price. I'm not entirely convinced the subscription model is the way to go for me personally, but maybe it is for you.

Loaded with Features - Not for Beginners
For a couple of years, I used a free public domain editor called Shotcut that's very cumbersome and recently switched to an android app called Youcut to do my video editing on my phone. Huge improvement. I thought PowerDirector 365 would be the ultimate video editing software. Not quite. I don't find it any easier to use than Shotcut. In fact, it's been even more difficult with a steeper learning curve. The good news is that there are several good online tutorials and Youtube videos. If you're new to video editing, be prepared to invest a lot of time.PowerDirector 365 does have some nice express modes to do your editing if you want to bypass the full mode. You can select auto mode, storybook mode, or slideshow creator instead of going into the full mode. You also get access to a good repository of stock images from Shutterstock and Getty. PowerDirector also gives you the opportunity to optimize hardware acceleration. I like the ability to do green screen editing, but haven't quite figured out how to do it yet.I didn't experience any issues with installation. You will need at least 4 GB RAM and at least 7 GB free hard drive space. I'm running on Windows 11 and it works fine for me. It does take several minutes to install the software. I haven't been able to find out anywhere in web searches what happens when my one year subscription expires. Will it even be functional at all, or will I just stop receiving updates?I've spent hours working with this since I installed it a few weeks ago and it seems like I'm barely scratching the surface. Perhaps I'll wake up someday and it will all click. I don't know. What I do know is that if you just want to make color or image adjustments, overdub sound, add titles, transitions, and a few special effects to home videos, this may be overkill. Lately, I've been going back to my free and simple android app Youcut to do everything I need and uploading the videos to my PC. The bottom line, at least for me, there are easier ways to achieve the same result.

Not what you think it is
There is no software on the cd they send you. It only installs their app for purchasing software and the license you pay for doesn't even work and the software purchase doesn't show in the app. Cyberpunk was sorry 25 years ago and they just proved to me they can get worse.
