How do I attach it properly to my board?

Hi! If you have a fiberglass board it should have a leash cup with a pin you can loop the string through, and then the leash through the string. If you have a soft top, the leash attachment is usually a piece of webbing at the rear fin, you can lift up an open loop and feed the leash through and back through itself.
