Great cd/dvd rw player! Easy set up, takes up little space on at my computer area and so far the dvd player is working awesome. Great buy and value for the money spent.

Great product. My husband sits at his computer all day. He listens to streaming music; however, he also has many music CD's which he loves, however, they are housed in an attractive case across the room. I purchased this for him for Christmas so that he can listen to his CD's while at his desk. (Note: I also purchased disc holders for his desk). He has a desk top computer, so we plugged it into a USB port on his tower, and it worked immediately. I am so please with this product and most important so is my husband.

A little hard to figure out the first time, but is working great. Tried a CD and a DVD Movie.

Connected to a laptop using the USB-C style connector. Powered up fine and no need for extra power. There is an included power cable in case your having low power issues. I tested a couple of movie DVD's and tried installing some old software. First, the movies played fine, I use VLC Media player and the movies looked fine. Next is a crummy Windows problem where I can't install old software. Tired installing a 16bit program which was recognized but Windows wouldn't let it install. There are workarounds like using Dosbox. The player runs better than Windows 11. Recommended.

Right out of the box, I was ripping and burning. Works excellent. Very pleased for something so reasonably priced. The cord is short but not a problem as I placed it right beneath the monitor. The manufacturer offered a free two year warranty, the info is in the box. I do recommend this and am very pleased

Easy to install. Only complaint is, I wish the cords were longer.

It was very easy to install. Came with several different screw drivers. Battery took a full charge with no problem and worked right away.

I am very pleased with the support at this company. The drive is OK. It does what it says it will do. Note, that it does not have a power cord and draws all power from the USB port. It will not work on unpowered USB hubs but works fine on both usb2 and usb3 ports if located on the computer. Pro is that you never have to worry about power cords. Con is that if your usb port is not putting out enough power, then it is just a brick. Nature of the technology though. ----- End of review Summary update ------------------- I received this DVD-RW drive today and my laptop will not recognize it. I suspect due to lack of enough power through the USB 2.x port though that is only a guess. It is recognized by my desktop on both USB 2.x and USB 3.x ports. However, it will not read any disk. It will spin the disk very fast and very noisily but will never recognize it. Not any disk. I emailed their support site and am waiting to hear back from them. If they resolve my problem, I will update this review and change the rating to what is appropriate at that time. It may be a chinese company. Not sure. Don't really expect much from them though. -------April 21, 2017 update ------------------ Heard back from email the next day. They asked me to do some basic troubleshooting (use different USB ports) which I did. Nothing helped. The drive simply will not read a disk. Support seems pretty good though. After reporting back that nothing helped, I was notified that they would send me a new drive and to expect it in about a week. I will update this review once I get the new drive. In the meantime, I have upgraded the review from 1-star to 2-stars. --------April 27, 2017--------------------------- Received the new drive yesterday and tried it out today. Works OK. No problems at all directly connected to desktop PC on USB2 or USB3 ports. On USB Hub off that same PC , the drive is recognized but does not allow me to look at the contents of the DVD I tried to read. However, the hub is unpowered and both the Amazon product description and the included instructions say that this drive does not work with unpowered USB hubs. Have not tried with my laptop yet but don't expect any problems. Will update review if it does not work. So, the drive is cheap but seems to work. I would only give 3 stars for the drive alone. Nothing special about it except that it gets aall of its power from the USB. No powercord at all. However, support is fantastic! I emailed them that I had a problem with the first drive and after the exchange of a couple of emails asking for informaiton they put a new drive in the mail to me. There was no hesitation. The company clearly wants to take care of their customers and keep a good reputation., I am very pleased with support which makes me like the drive better. I am giving it four stars. An upgrade from my original 1 star.

Bought this to do a language course I had borrowed from the library that came with CD's and my computer doesn't have a drive for it. This was plug and play and worked so easily. And I love the padded case it comes in. Nice and compact and easy to put away when not in use so that it's not taking up space on my desk.

Took 3 days for my order to arrive. The external drive was packaged inside its black carrying case, which was packaged inside a handy re-sealable clear plastic pouch. I really appreciated having all of this extra padding because it's easy for electronics to get damaged in the mail. Set the unit on top of my space gray Mac Mini (2018) and plugged the USB 3.0 cable (which is hardwired into the base of the unit) directly into the back of the computer as per the manufacturer's instructions (NOTE: they say it likely won't work by plugging it into a hub... they are correct as I did try that later on just to see if it would or not). Pushed the eject button, inserted an old music CD and pushed the tray back in. Loaded up in seconds, imported the songs using the Apple Music App, then clicked the eject button on my screen to re-open the tray. Did a half-dozen discs this evening and it all worked perfectly! This unit is exactly what I was looking for, in the colour I was looking for, for the price I was looking for. No compatibility issues, no software, just plug n' play. I really like that: - the unit is black: it matches my computer setup. - it's extremely light and portable: I have a desk setup but anyone needing to take theirs on the go, no problem. - the tray is not motorized: less parts to break down over time and no CDs getting trapped inside. - the unit has a tiny hole to manually released the tray door if for some reason it will not open. - it cost $35, compared to $95 for a Mac Superdrive. - works perfectly on a Mac! I can still rip CDs using AAC encoding because the Mac handles all of that. - there's no software to load: plug and play! The only thing I'm not overly excited about is the USB 3.0 cable: it's short (but works for my setup thankfully) and it's hardwired into the base of the unit, so it cannot be detached. For $35 you've got nothing to lose if you need a unit like this to rip CDs, watch DVDs, etc.

Compre este producto para poder copiar discos de musica a mi computadora, descarge vlc, music bee, use windows media player, ningun programa podia copiar mas de una cancion antes de bloquearse completamente. Como se que era este lector? por que compre uno LG en su lugar y ese funciono de maravilla. No vale la pena si deseas copiar mucha informacion, no se que tal sirva para quemar discos pero asumo que sera igual de pesimo.
