Could I use this to move heavy boxes? Up stairs? Would this also ease moving if it were used by only one person?

I don't believe it would grip a square box enough to feel comfortable carrying it up stairs. It fits its shape to the contoured pots, which works well because most post have lips towards the rim. And no, this is not a one person lifter; it takes two to distribute the load. You are not gaining any advantage without another human. I have used it for pots, rocks and cement bags, but not for boxes.

can it be used for moving a planter that's already on a dolly?

It could be used to pick up a planter off of a dolly. It needs to go completely around the planter in order to grip it tightly.

Easy to use and works!

So easy to use and made some of my really large potted plants easy to move onto new trolleys and around in the yard. It saved my husband‘s back. It’s a very clever design and very well priced! Highly recommend.

Despite the cheesy ad, the product itself is solid. Moved an ~80 kg pot with no problem and would've been a pain in the rear end otherwise.
