Kohler 597-2MB Simplice Pull Down Kitchen Faucet, 3-Spray Faucet, Kitchen Sink Faucet with Pull Down Sprayer, Vibrant Brushed Moderne Brass

I purchased this because I installed Granite Counter Tops into my kitchen. I went with this one because it could be installed with a single hole in the counter. A lot of other types require two or more to fully connect. The faucet is built well and the water controls are smooth as can be. I intentionally skipped over the models that had the "automated" functions built into them. I've known many people who have had those kind and after the novelty wears off they never use it. So I saved myself the extra bucks and went with this. There are three key features I love about this faucet: 1. The magnetic spray head. Other faucets I've had have always relied on gravity from the weight on the hose of the sprayer to hold it in place. In some cases that works but it's never a solid fit. Since there are magnets in the faucet head it connects to the fixture really well. It will click right into place. 2. The jet sprayer. Other faucets that I've owned have only had a full spray on it. The problem with this in most cases is that it's not a focused stream so it doesn't do much in regards to cleaning off the dishes. It works well for rinsing but that's about it. The jet sprayer creates a clean line of individual jets that do a good job and getting stuff off the dishes without scrubbing. Case in point, last night we made something in our Crockpot and there is always food caked onto the side. The water jet function took the majority of the cleaning work out of this process. 3. Pivot connector on the spray head. Conventional faucets have a hose that connects directly to the spray head. This is fine in most cases but if you need to use the sprayer in a different angle then straight it causes a problem. The pivot on this makes it a lot easier to go through dishes and to rinse out the sink when the job is done. As a mention. There is a button on the spray head that stops the flow completely. This allows you to stop the water flow to move the nozzle to a pot of sorts and fill it up. I use this every once and a while since I don't use large stock pots very often. The install was real easy. It comes with the "3 hole base" if you have existing drill hols in the counter. I'd recommend this to anybody who wants a clean look in their kitchen.

I couldn’t be more pleased with this faucet. Yes, it’s pricy but worth it. I wanted something I’d never have to replace and I think I’ve found it. I had some concern with the chrome finish but it’s really easy to keep clean. As we have a double sink, I didn’t want a huge goose neck faucet. This one sets nicely and looks great. We especially like the pull down faucet head and firm docking action. In addition, this faucet generates at least 30% more pressure than my previous Delta faucet. Also, the power booster is no joke. It really does add noticeably more pressure. Yup, you get what you pay for. At least with this product.

I purchased this faucet to replace a Moen that failed after 8 years. I specifically wanted to try a different brand. I also purposefully selected the K597 model since it is smaller than the 596 and I was concerned that the gooseneck would be too overwhelming and that the height of the nozzle would create sink splatter. I installed myself in a single hole application. Great --easy and smart installation; well thought out --hardware seems solid/well-made --functions as expected --easy side to side swing motion --easy on/off hot/cold controls --easy spray/stream/pause --no leaks or issues or defects after 1 week's use (I will update this post if I find one) Not So Great --in spray mode, a single stream is misdirected out from its peers and it looks silly --despite getting the 597, there is still some splatter. I think this is just a function of the higher nozzle which tempts you to do work at a higher level, but it may also be the combo of my sink deplth (8 inches) and the nozzle height --why matte black? where's oil-rubbed bronze, which I would have preferred? I ended up with stainless steel and it's fine. --the nozzle reach is probably a foot, foot and a half from the sink after adding the weight. still useful --the weight was not strong enough to retract the nozzle to my satisfaction. I added the weight from the old sink as well and am happy with the retraction now. I would recommend this product.

Love my new Kitchen Faucet!! Was easy to install and love not have two separate places to get water from. Hose always seems to get tangled underneath and with it in the faucet this never happens. Like that you can switch from regular stream to a spray with a touch of the button. Looks great and works great!!

I hate this faucet. We've had it for over 6 months and the more I use it, the more I hate it. You can't control the temperature because the handle is too small. You can't use it without getting soaked. And the counter gets soaked. And if the dog is walking by, he gets soaked! It may be so unusable because we have a normal sink. I consider this one of the worst purchases ever made. The item is well made. Very nice finish and construction. Too bad it's unusable.

Arrived on time, but the seal and tape was broken, as if the package had been opened. Kind of strange. I checked everything out, look it all over and it seemed OK to me. So I installed it have to say very easy install. I have over the years put a few of these things in,hardest part about this install was crawling in and out from under the sink, of course maybe being 74 might have something to do with that. All and all this was very simple and the faucet it self work great.

I particularly like the features: 1) The spray is a blade that nicely gets food off of plates (your counter sometimes get a little wet). 2) There is a power button that when held increases the flow - great for filling coffee pot etc. Installation was easy and the instructions were well done. No real negatives although there are clearly less expensive faucets. Still, I think the value was good.

The Kohler Simplice K-597 ( KOHLER K-597-VS Simplice Pull-Down Secondary Faucet, Vibrant Stainless has a wonderful design and look. The functionality was great with the promotion technology. The sweep spray was also a good feature that we used everyday and loved. It created a good amount of spray power even with todays faucet flow restrictions. This product had the potential to be a 5-star item if it lasted a reasonable amount of time. I only gave it two stars since it didn't last me a year. As some mentioned below, the product quality isn't quite there anymore. For me, the braided hose near the head of the faucet failed. The braided hose started to show signs of leakage about 11 months in. I noticed it as i would turn the faucet on and see water leaking out almost as if the hose was sweating. It's now 12 months in and I can't pull the nozzle down to spray my sink without have water spray everywhere out through the braided hose. It's quite annoying to have to use my hand to cover the leaks through the braided cable if i want to us the pull down feature. Even if i don't pull the hose out, all the water buildup through the neck of the faucet has to dump somewhere. In this case it come out through connection point of the head to the neck of the faucet. If the leak was any higher on the braided hoseline, i could see the water falling back into the cabinet under the sink as some have experienced. Bottom Line: Stay away from this product until kohler fixes their build quality.

Very well packaged and arrived in perfect shape. Love the faucet - paired with a Kraus undermount sink - they look great together. No performance issues so far.

Great look with quartz countertop and apron sink. Excellent quality and very functional. Good value. March 4, 2010. We have had the Simplex Kitchen Faucet installed and used daily for 18 months now. Working perfectly. Lots of compliments from friends and family. Looks fantastic on our white quartz countertop and with white apron sink.

Arrived much sooner than anticipated. Had been shopping around at stores looking for something that felt like it would last, not cheap & plastic. Really felt good about this particular one and thought we would check on line to see if it was available this way and what the price diffrence might be....it was great. It works exactly as they said it would, and feels like you have something you can use without fear of it breaking. Love this one and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for this style of faucet!

The faucet has the perfect proportion, design is artistically pleasing to the eye, yet every detail has been perfectly thought out from the pause button to the way the spray works, however it still amazes me at how smooth it rotates from side to side and how the surface never gets finger prints at all,it's a perfect replacement faucet, it comes with the cover plate too. I think I would have preferred the braided hose out of stainless steel but the nylon appears to be tough so far.
