Good product and comfortable, helps to enforce good posture to ease back strain.
This posture brace is easy to put on and wear, and it fits very securely. I like the wrap-around elastic and the fact that the stays are optional, according to your specific needs. (I need them.) Sometimes the straps irritate around the front of my underarms, but I suppose some of that is to be expected from a product that is designed to force your shoulders back and into proper position. The padding helps ease the irritation, to some extent. The brace definitely helps maintain good posture, and holds the back into alignment to ease tension if you've strained the muscles. It provides reassuring firmness around the midsection and back and helps you stand straight. Fits well under clothes if you need to wear it out. I'd definitely buy it again. If you're trying to choose between two sizes, opt for the larger one - it fits very snugly around the midsection, so if it's too small, it'll suffocate you.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
I have tested 12+ back braces (yes, it's true) hoping to find a brace that works for my needs. I have curvature of the spine and I both lean forward and my right shoulder has fallen far below my left shoulder (it sucks). This brace fits me perfectly! It helps my spine straighten, as well as brings my shoulders back. My only con is that the large front closure is a bit too thick -- but that's a minor con. Plus, I love that it's not black!! I will be purchasing additional Neo G Dorsolumbar Support Braces! I highly recommend!!

Poorly designed and NON-RETURNABLE.
This was a complete waste of money. There is nothing in the product description to indicate that this item is non-returnable, and unfortunately I was in a rush and did not stop to look at the reviews. That was a $70 mistake. The brace straps are complicated and impossible to put on without help. Once I finally got it figured out, I found that the brace was four inches too long for my back - either I can't sit down because it's too low on my hips, or I have a hump on my neck from the top of the brace being too high on my back. Either way it is not good. It definitely does not lie flat under clothing. It's uncomfortable - it felt like I was wearing a backpack and a corset at the same time. It did make my back feel somewhat better while I had it on, but I need something I can wear to help with back pain while I am working - I need to be able to bend, sit, and move around with the brace on. This brace will not work for that purpose. If I'd known I couldn't return it I would never have bought it. 0/10 do not recommend.

Had to order next size up.
Well this is my second review because I had to purchase another brace. ONLY because the straps that go under your arms run small. I wore the first one for quite some time, but couldn't take the straps any longer. They were cutting under my arms just too much. This is the only issue I have with the brace. Now because my back has gotten much worse, I have to wear the brace all the time, so I ordered another one but the next size up. Straps feel great now. The quality of the brace is extremely well made. I just received this yesterday and tried it this morning while walking. I'm 53 and have numerous spine issues, (fusion, degeneration of spine, spinal curvature). This helped tremendously while I was walking. It gives me superior back support. The extra (removable) padding for the lower spine feels wonderful. Will say they run a little on the small size. So if you are not use to lots of pressure on your stomach, I would say get a larger size. I do not carry my weight in my stomach area, but in the hip/thigh area, but was still tight on my waist. The only other issue that I have, that will probably just be some getting use to is the straps that go under your arms. They rub! However, I am sure there is something I can come up with that will be more comfortable for me. All in all, this brace did exactly what I needed it to.

i have a spinal fusion and,..
when i had my first spinal fusion i was given a medical grade brace with rigid metal slats, it worked great! after a couple years i thought my back issues were done for and got rid of it. my mistake as my pain came back with a vengeance & i had no brace. so i first went to my primary care physician inquiring about a replacement. She could not find one like i was looking for so i kept on looking on my own. i tried a couple of others since that made big promises but were worthless. then i found this one that actually had metal slats and looked very much like it would be perfect for me. the good - it has metal slats that you can easily bend to match up the curvature of your spine. tip place both slats together, matched evenly. then place over say your knee and apply pressure to bend. that way both bend exactly the same, matching. the material it is made from is good not apparent defects. the bad - sizing is off some so maybe go with a size larger than you think you'll need. OMG the 'rat's nest' of straps is beyond frustrating to deal with. it reminded me of my daughter's necklaces that she frequently gets all tangled up. normally i won't even touch them instead sending her off to mom. these to me are like those if that helps some. the straps that go over your shoulders are the worst of the bunch. i ended up having to purchase more Velcro, sew it on so that it would work as pictured. Summary - i have to wonder if anyone who designed or sold these has ever tried one on? i went by the many photos shown to get it on properly but as said it was still frustrating. so going at it a good half hour (after adding more Velcro) i finally was able to get it on. it is comfortable like the one i got after my first surgery. it does noticeably relieve my lower back pain and helps straighten my posture. nonetheless IMHO it should not be so difficult to figure out how to get strapped up. so very close to being perfect for my needs but missed the mark in the end. *this brace could very easily be a 5+ star item all day long if not for the straps implementation. i'd be telling my doctors, family, friends, associates but i can't as is. i wish they would do away with using Velcro and go with plastic adjustable sliding clip connectors and it wouldn't cost anymore to do so. just my two cents. one final note, it's too bad they didn't do a short vid to pair with this product. that in itself might possibly have made getting it on and wearing it a bit easier? i still wonder if i have it on properly.

Great product for slouching (shoulders and mid-back)
Overall, I would highly recommend this product. I slouch a lot and I wanted to try this product in order to help correct my bad habit. It arrived about a week earlier than it was estimated to arrive (which was great) and really helps my back! There are three different adjustable velcro straps.. one that goes around your lower back, another that tightens and pulls around the lower/mid back, and the longer straps that pull back the shoulders. The product also comes with a lower back padding, which makes the brace more comfortable against your body. There are also two different bars that you can put into the back for extra support-- a pair that are very rigid, and a pair that are more flexible. The shoulder straps can rub a bit and I felt like i had to constantly adjust, but then I saw, at the bottom of the box, there were shoulder strap padding. Once I slipped on these pads, they were much more comfortable. Overall, I really like this product. (The only one complaint I have is that the neck area rubs into the skin on the back of your neck- it can get slightly irritating and makes you hold your neck forward a bit-- which I'm sure is against the whole 'good posture' aspect. This is minor though, the brace's benefits far outweigh this issue. I easily solved the issue by wearing either a high-necked shirt or a hoodie so that the fabric was against my skin instead of the actual brace) I would highly recommend this brace-- much more comfortable than all the others I have tried and actually very supportive for mid-back issues and shoulders slouching. Ive only been wearing it for a few days but my back pain has quickly diminished. Feels great at work, especially when I sit in front of a computer screen all day. Great product, great seller!! 5 stars

This is the 1st brace I tried...It's a winner!
I bought this back support item almost two months ago. As you would expect there is a mild discomfort in being pushed into a position that is unfamiliar for your body. It is as actually VERY comfortable to have it on. It made a difference in my posture the very first time I wore it. Seriously! When I took off the brace, I felt stronger and more UPRIGHT. Of course, that wore off after a bit. BUT....after each time I wore it again, it got better and better plus the effect also lasted longer and longer. It's great that the item lets you start out with just normal reinforcement where the stays should be in the vertical back lines before graduating into the plastic stays and then metal. I am 5'7" but the bottom edges come down over the top of my hips, similar to the sample picture. I'm able to sit and work, eat, watch tv....or even bend and do things around the house and ride in the car. Like others have mentioned, I always wear something underneath. I have yet to try wearing it under my clothes, since I want to be able to take it off at a moment's notice. You still could do that with a shirt over it, but I guess it would be a shocker to someone who hadn't seen the brace already! My one small half frown on it is that the shoulder straps are a bit too soft. Now...I'm glad that they are soft because I need that. But they sometimes roll in half. That seems pretty soft to me. But I'm not counting any stars off for that! I not only would recommend this item, I already have recommended it to my massage therapist, my D.O. and friends! I'm very appreciative that the first item that I tried (this one) turned out to be a winner!

Non-returnable! Buyer Beware!
This brace is a serious piece of medical equipment. There's nothing passive about the body-wrapping support and posture correction it provides, but the sizing chart is way, way off because the measuring instructions ARE WRONGLY WRITTEN! I "loosely" measured the "greatest" span in my waist as they instructed, which was above my naval, because I'm fat, and ordered a size that I thought was "safe" by 4 inches, even with all the reviews warning of the sizing chart being grossly inaccurate. Well, believe them! So, I went back to the product info, and still didn't see where it said "nonreturnable." So, then I looked at the photos on the box and was surprised to see a diagram of a female figure showing the greatest span of the waist they were referring to is THE GIRTH AROUND THE TOP OF THE HIP BONES! Whaaaat? Really? That's not our waist! In America, that's our hips, but maybe it's considered their "waist" to the Brits! THAT PHOTO SHOULD BE PROMINENTLY DISPLAYED BESIDE THE SIZE CHART for the benefit of us Yanks!! Now, I'm stuck with a high-quality brace I would love to wear, except it severely restricts my breathing, unhealthily so. I can't make it work. $78 down the hole! I suppose the fact that it is not returnable is in the product description, but I missed it. And I'm usually pretty good about reading the fine print! I have emailed Amazon requesting their intervention on this product to either pressure Neo to fix the deceptive sizing info or stop selling this product! If they respond with any useful info, I'll update this review accordingly. UPDATE: Amazon did not comment on the issues with this product, but they refunded my purchase as "Product Unsatisfactory." I am using the refund to order the next size up, as the brace is impressive, just was too tight to wear.

Does it work for posture? Yes
I don't normally write reviews, however as this isn't that cheap and its difficult choice deciding which brace is suitable, I've decided to add my experience. I have a medium level of Kyphosis which I've inherited from my father and is gradually getting worst, to the point now, when i lay on my back my head didn't touch the ground anymore. The fact that it was getting worse and I was starting to get a bit of back aching made me try a back brace. I'm under no illusions that at the age of 43 a brace won't straighten my back, but i'm hoping it will prevent the curvature getting worse or even improve it a bit. As an engineer I have a job that requires me to spend time at a keyboard with the usual bad posture and i have active times as well, bending and climbing under machines. So if i'm to wear it at work it has to be flexible but firm if that's possible. The first one i tried was the"DELUXE FULL BACK POSTURE CORRECTIVE BRACE". This one is flexible, it has the usual issues with the straps hurting under the arms, however the first time a jumped into my car after putting this on, i was amazed, I needed to re-adjust my mirrors and my head contacted the head rest for the first time in years. As the first brace was quite flexible, I looked at this brace as a second one to wear whilst the other was in the wash. This brace has different 2 rods down the back which you can change, the first type is flexible plastic and the other rods ares steel which still flexes a bit. I'm currently wearing it with the steel rods which made me re-adjust my car driving position again and i also had to move my head rest back a bit. I'm now sitting in a good more upright position. The fit is good for me and the arm straps come with padding which is better than the first brace. Also your arms seem to get used to the straps with time. It also has enough flex, even with the steel rods, to allow me to carry out my work. However with both braces they irritate my skin, causing itching and are just uncomfy. Reading on the net, wearing a T-shirt between you and the brace helps a lot, and it does help with the under arms (still need padding) and fix the skin irritation. The problem I found with a T-shirt is the brace and T-shirt ride up your back when bending. Also I found that the T-shirt has to be lightweight else you will rather hot in summer wearing, in effect 2 tops and a back brace. As a top layer I usually wear ether a work T-shirt or formal shirt. As my job can be active, bending and reaching etc, then going to the loo every 15 mins to pull down the T-shirt and brace was a real pain. If your just standing, sitting or just not bending I found the brace tends to be fine with just a T-shirt underneath. After some googling and talking with my wife, the solution we came to was a T-shirt type bodysuit, not many out there for men, however we found an online shop in the UK were the bodysuit was designed for men like a normal lightweight T-shirt and these work a treat on me. The T-shirt can't ride up and therefore it tends to help keep the brace in place for quite some time. To the loo maybe twice a day now for re-adjustment. I normally wear a brace all night (usually wear the first brace at night as this is a bit more comfy) and this brace all the working day, taking it of for 5 or 6 hours or so in the evening. I also complement the brace with some yoga exercise. So after some experimenting I think its about as comfy as its ever going to be. So is to worth it? I would say a resounding yes. I've seen good improvement in posture and my head now just gets to the ground when flat on my back! Over one year on! Still wearing the same brace virtually every day, sewn the the pads into position, to stop them sliding during the day, only sewn at the top as the straps stretch. Its not really showing signs of wear. My back is as good as its going to get and not getting worse so really happy.

Blessed relief
My spine is a mass of lesions, from cervical to sacroiliac joints, following two car accidents (neither my fault), rugby and a dramatic skiing accident. For 5-days before this back support arrived I was unable to get off my bed, with severe spasms from thoracic to lumbar spine. Brace arrived, worked out how to fit it... and up and about, albeit gingerly. Unlike alternative braces, this one shouldn't lead to muscle wasting, as it supports rather than holding you up. Think I will wear a T-shirt underneath it in future, to increase comfort. Fantastic product let down only by lack of fitting instructions, which is important for anyone who has not worn any kind of back brace before. For anyone struggling with - relevant - chronic back complaints, this is a cost effective aid. If you are still seeing an orthopaedic/neurological surgeon, I am sure they would want to okay the brace BEFORE you wear one. Works for me and what relief it provides!

I wished this had existed when I was a teenager
When I was a teenager I used to have a brace made out of metal and plastic to correct my back. It was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever worn in my life. If only they had something like this back then I would have worn it more. I love it except for that it hurts around the front part of your shoulders from the straps after a while.
