Catchmaster Rat & Mouse Glue Traps 8 Pack, Large Heavy Duty Sticky Traps

Ok, these work great. But no one seems to have figured out the best way to end their suffering. My logic is they are intruders & deserve what they get. I don't agree with luring them in by scent, just putting them in those places they sneak into to break. But if there IS a scent that attracts them, I am not a fan of that at all so I would like them unscented personally w the option to bait by putting something in the middle. Otherwise aren't you just attracting them which defeats the entire point? Outside in a garage just attracts the whole neighborhood. INSIDE would be good to bait them since they are already IN your home. But by an entry point, baiting them seems pointless or u would have to kill every mouse in your neighborhood. NOT touching the traps helps a lot since that makes them avoid it. Put where they are entering (a tiny opening by my garage door that I can't do anything about w the design of how the door works or it wouldn't close) HERE IS MY IDEA FOR U SOFT HEARTED PEOPLE LIKE ME: 1. Get a bucket 2. Fill it 3/4 ish with water 3. Put trap w caught intruder in the bucket with the top sticking out so you can grab it If one on each side u can tip bucket to kill them both OR flip each side after one is dead. 4. Wear gloves ,unless u don't care about germs lol They die in about a minute or 2. I'm a soft hearted sucker so sometimes I say a prayer. Might make u other suckers feel better too since ppl are complaining about this SO much. I get it. Us or them. Just tossing them in a bag or trash bin outside always made me feel bad. If it's an open bin, I worry about a hawk hearing them scream & the HAWK getting caught in it! IMAGINE! So have a bucket ready by your garden hose or a few gallons of jugs of tap water ready to pour into ur bucket so u can murder them before u leave for the day & not hv to think about the creature suffering or chewing it's leg off. What gets me is when a whole family is trapped, clearly trying to save the other ones. Ugggh but they've ruined so much in my garage, my child's old fav stuffed animal that was in a sealed trash bag. So I try not to feel TOO bad. They poop everywhere, they SMELL, it's gotta be done. Man or woman up, people. They carry DISEASE. It's u or the rodents. If u wanna live with disgusting critters, that's ur choice. Survival of the fittest still applies in modern day life whether u want to admit it or not. ALSO do NOT put by your car. One time a big one moved it under my tire. I was 50 feet down the street & heard the craziest noise, thought my car was done for & low & behold a trap made a GIANT mess all over my tires, wheel well, & around my tires. (Think like a card on a bike tire smearing glue all over in a circle - YUCK!) Which was almost impossible to get off & took a LOT of time & energy. U need some kind of paint thinner to get it off. AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS. I also once accidentally stepped on one not looking where I was going BIG MISTAKE. Had to throw away the shoe! I worry about kids or pets having this happen. So be responsible & very careful. HIGHLY recommend otherwise!!! If u have kids or pets that go in the area, I would get something else or call pest control. TRUST ME it's not worth the risk. This is VERY sticky stuff & that's why it works so well. If an adult can forget & not notice it, a child will too. Thanks for reading & GOOD LUCK!!!

No additional bait was used. Just placed these along a few baseboards in the kitchen where we saw activity. We woke up and bewildered that one trap was missing. Counted them all up several times and then started looking under appliances. It had caught one tail and a foot and dragged it under the oven. We used the other glue plates to secure it. These are Very effective. It even catches fruit flies when used like a paddle and socks of unwitting humans. Good luck.

After putting up two bird feeders we found many rats coming into the yard to get the dropped seeds. I wanted to put these in the bushes and behind small structures where the birds were not likely to be looking for the seeds. I did catch several large rates and a few mice, but unfortunately I also caught two small birds and a lizard or two. Some were still alive and I had to use a shovel to quickly break their necks to put them out of their misery. After having to do this a few times, I decided these were too harsh on the wildlife and I am going to switch back to the normal rat traps and baits. I just wanted to write this to let people know these are very large and do the job, but you have to be able to stomach the suffering that may be caused by the trapped animal and be willing to put them out of their misery.

Our neighbors got rats, so I bought & set these traps as a precautionary measure. Sure enough, about two weeks later we got our first catch - TWO on a single trap! Then two more the next day! Each rat caught was still alive when I found it and would SCREAM its little rat scream and struggle as I took it outside and smashed it with a shovel to end the poor thing's misery. The first time startled the living daylights out of me because I thought they were dead, then when I moved them they sprang to life and started screaming and nashing their teeth at me. In one case, the rat only had a leg stuck and was still somewhat mobile and I ended up having to chase it in a tight space between walls in my basement - when cornered, it became aggressive and I had to whack it right there, which created a small bloody mess to clean up. On day three ZERO rats were caught, but I still saw signs of activity. The rats had learned to avoid the traps. Replacing them with snap-traps helped to catch a few more and I hope that the issue is resolved now. On the positive side: * They work! That's what's important, right? * They're extremely easy to set - just open them up and lay them down where you suspect activity * They won't break your fingers if you mishandle them (though they can be sticky - wear gloves). * Two rats on one trap on the first catch was a nice bonus. On the negative side: * The traps aren't even remotely humane. * You need to be mentally prepared to end the life of wahtever you catch with your own hands. * Single use * An abundance of caution is needed around small pets and/or children

I really like these and best believe, this goo catches everything that comes in contact with it, including u if u accidentally step onto it. The purpose i bought them is to slide underneath outdoor patio furniture. Great product

We had an unexpected visitor enter our premises, so I ordered the glue traps. So when the intruder entered the hallway closet, I set up 8 glue traps in the entrance of the closet and early morning I heard a clatter, woke up and headed to the closet and low and behold from nose to bum and bum to tail tip, 1foot+1foot= 2' stuck on 3 traps, disposed the rat 🐀 and put the protective cover back on the glue trap and put it away for when we will need of it again.

I was hoping I could get rid of some mice and maybe some other pests at the same time. But we have very young and highly mobile children, as well as cats and a dog. I didn't want to put the glue traps where they might touch them. The glue can really only be removed with peanut butter (and other oily things), and that's messy, too. I read the instructions, learned where mice like to run (along walls but not into corners). I tried to find places under the furniture that might not be accessible by the pets and kids that mice would go. I left the traps in place for at least a month, still ended up stepping in a few myself, and caught neither mice nor bugs. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but I don't have a lot of time to spend on this. I'd rather use a bait method, so that, if the mice are in the house at all, they'll have to check it out. (The glue traps do contain bait, but it's for insects. Still didn't catch any of those, but I know they're around...) But maybe the glue traps could be ideal for when their placement doesn't have to be so constrained by other factors, like kids, pets, and my competence.

Our trail camera revealed a rat problem under our house. Initially, cage traps worked in getting rid of a few. After a while, however, they refused to enter the trap. They would eat bait out in the open, but would never go into the cage. By placing these glue traps outside their entry holes I was able to do in one night what I could not in ten nights before. Care must be taken, of course, but in the end they do what they are meant to.

I have bought 3 different brands of mouse traps, this is the best! heavy glue! the mice sticks on the pad and never escaped! Great product!
