Awesomeness!
Take away: Would get a 5 if they made it so the user didn't have to make tweaks. A lot of the complaints are easy tweaks though. So I finally wanted to move to a standing desk ability without using free boxes to do it lol... and ordered this then cancelled same day for a few days due to complaints in the reviews. However, even automatic standing desks have issues like limited up and down. Each time you use it, that motor's life is being shortened in that desk. Anyway, I already have a perfectly good and nice looking desk so what a waste to buy another.Despite that, I didn't attach this to the desk but to a side table, and it works quite well despite the table not being a perfect match for this clamp. The keyboard I have leaves zero room for a mouse. Simply moved the keyboard off the edge a little and ta-da. Now plenty of room for the mouse and works great. If, you want the keyboard to be level because you just can't deal with it then you could always hack off the raised edge and extend it with a clamp on product, or simply drill some holes and attach a small piece of plexiglass or whatever, or just stick something under the one side that doesn't slide like rubber or make it stay. You could also instead get a clamp on product and use it for the mouse or custom extend for it. I have a big aluminum mouse pad, so if I wanted to use that here, then custom extending the tray would be quite easy. But, that's my only reason for 1 star as it would have been nice if they thought of how people expect to use the tray while designing it and built it that way or provided it to eliminate tweaks there. They could even sell another size for it separately or whatever.Anyway, yeah it'll bounce a bit while using it. You could just stick a free box under it between the desk and it which is fast, easy, and free. If it bothers you so. You can also just lean one hand or both hands on it with some body weight and its minimized a lot. There's yet other ways to solve that if you think about it. Its really quiet minimal as to an annoyance. Then again, I own an ASUS monitor that came with a stand that wobbles while using the computer and that bothers certain people. Just stick a box of a height you like under it and the desk. Takes like 10 seconds, press down on the arm to lock it in, and that's solved for you. You could use something other than a box even such a if you have a right hight something next to it and then just bring it up and over and down - how simple!I also see one review that is like we couldn't get the one part to go into the other part. Yeah, that part has a screw pin in it. If its screwed in a hair too far then its not going in even with a hammer lol. Just screw it out a small amount and the parts go together easy then screw it in to lock it in. Simple. The arm itself on the keyboard takes plenty of weight. But, it has a tighten or loosen bolt for making the movement easier or harder. Much of that depends on the monitor weight. When I added my monitor it was set just perfect to me by factory for the weight of all my stuff and has great staying power anywhere. You can put some weight on the keyboard and it stays fantastically well in position. All in all, for me, this was a total better buy than a whole new desk that will have problems anyway and I'm glad that decided to ignore the negative reviews here and went with it :)Update: A bunch of months later and still very happy with this thing.

Overall Good Value, with some shortcomings
I bought three of the sit stand desk converters for myself and two staff members who wanted them. The first thing I noticed is that it is pretty well made, it seems substantial, especially for the price ($50). The two others have a 36" wide desk and the unit works beautifully, When in the down position, the keyboard is very close to the edge of the desk. My desk is 42" wide and the keyboard is 6" in from the edge. I take the keyboard off the unit when sitting. The biggest downside is the size of the keyboard tray. I knew from other reviewers that the tray was small, but it is not even big enough for a keyboard and mouse. One of us has a small dell keyboard, and even that one doesn't leave room for the mouse. I keep my mouse on my desk and, when standing, its not real convenient. Two of us have Logitech wave keyboards and they don't fit on the tray without a wobbly overhang. I have a dell 24" monitor and there is no way to connect the unit to it, so I had to purchase separately a bracket to connect it, so it was an extra $30 for that. The other two are Dell 15" monitors and they worked fine as is. Still, even with the shortcomings, I am pleased with the units.

Great for the price
I'm a teacher and I wanted an adjustable standing desk for long grading sessions. This really fits the bill and is a lot cheaper than similar adjustable converters.Assembly was fairly easy. I tried to use the grommet to mount it, but it didn't sit very stable - I can't decide if it's my desk or the mount. Both the edge and grommet mount options seem to be good, sturdy steel. Adjusting the bolts and knobs to fit my height was easy once I figured out how to do it. Adjusted properly, it's easy to move the whole assembly up and down. The wire guides/covers keep it all organized well.On my particular desk, the monitor sits a little high in the seated position, and I sometimes have to adjust the monitor height when going from standing to seated. That's probably because I have a shorter torso. I had to use a small wireless keyboard instead of my sturdy Dell wired one because it was too big. I didn't have room to move my mouse, and the whole assembly to shook a bit when I hit the keys. If you like a mechanical-type keyboard, you may want something with a bigger tray. But switching to a small wireless keyboard was fine for me. It still does shake a *little* bit when I type, but it's not terrible.Overall, it suits my needs and is a steal at under $50.

Very Good, but no place for mouse
I would have give this 5 stars if it only had a place for the mouse. An extendible tray to the side of the keyboard tray might have worked. The mouse cannot fit on the tray along with the keyboard. This is even worse for my user who has an ergonomic keyboard which is a little bigger....Mouse won't fit with a regular sized keyboard either.

Great for the price
I've had this for a few months now and I still very much like it. The up-and-down mechanism is really perfect. I can easily place it where I want it to be, and it stays well put. Mine is a bit more wobbly than I would like, but I'm 99% sure it's because it's clamped to my crappy Ikea desk. The only reasons it loses a star for me are:- IF YOU NEED A 10-KEY, THIS ISN'T FOR YOU. The tray doesn't have enough room for a full-sized keyboard and mouse. The dimensions given are for the outside of the tray, but not the actual inner usable part. I had to buy a small mouse pad and a keyboard without a 10-key.- It doesn't have as much range of motion on the actual desktop as I would like. I had to take off the little phone tray because otherwise it couldn't sit flat on my desk (when I want to use it sitting down) and still be far back enough for me to comfortable use it.- I had to buy longer USB cables. The ones that came with it couldn't reach my computer, which was only a few feet away.Other than those small issues, this is a great value for the price and has made long hours at my computer soooo much easier.
