Intoxicates toddlers who like tools!
My daughter told me that my 2 1/2 year old grandson loved riding on lawn tractors (John Deere of course!), and had taken to carrying a tool box around the house to fix stuff. I read the reviews and watched several videos on YouTube before deciding to buy it.A lot of reviewers said that assembling the toy was a pain. My son in law has a very demanding job, travels a lot, so I determined that I would buy it, ship it home to me, assemble it, then ship it to my grandson for Christmas. This worked out very well, but did add another $100 to the price, since I had to buy a new box for the assembled toy ($10) and the cheapest shipping was still almost $90 from the Catskills in New York to southern California via the US Post Office.I found that assembling the toy was actually quite fun and unlike many online videos, I did not have extra parts afterwards. Everything worked perfectly. It actually only takes about an hour and a half, including unboxing, reboxing and wrapping. However, I must warn other grandparents!!! The instruction manual is very difficult to read, text is small, illustrations are tiny, and VITAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION is hidden from the assembler. For example you will read many reviews and watch multiple videos that all claim that the headlights never worked. In fact, the headlights always work, but the assemblers did not read the fine print!READ THIS CAREFULLY!!!!Turn on the headlight, by pressing in on the light itself! The RED Button does NOT turn on the headlights, it breaks them, creates a fault. It is a wonderful feature for the troubleshooting toddler. You can create a problem with the headlights, that will require that the Headlight be removed from the tractor, reset (by pressing a spring release), then reinstalled. The whole philosophy of the toy is to pose problems for the toddler that they can solve:What do you do when the head light doesn't work? What do you do if the glow plug needs to changed? What do you do if the engine needs to be removed and overhauled? How do you repair the brakes? How do you replace the wheels? Can you check the oil?In addition, it is easy for my grandson to push around, has a horn with a nice peaceful sound, and a quite charming not to loud starter that plays a diesel starting up.Since Christmas, my daughter tells me that my grandson is up every morning at 6:30 servicing his tractor engine, that he is completely obsessed. Best Christmas present ever.Plus, he's going to grow up interested in fixing things!!!!I highly recommend this toy if your granddaughter or grandson is starting to play with tools, likes screwdrivers, nuts and bolts.Just think! Lego, Meccanno and all the other wonderful toys that require an interest in mechanics!!!ETC.

It's a John deere
My son is 3-1/2 years old bought this for Christmas ...he was little frustrated at first but quickly caught on the assembly and disassembly of this toy....over all built ok it's been almost 2 months nothing broke yet , I also looked at the toy similar to this at Walmart but it is a car not a tractor....I feel the John deere is better made ( heavier plastic ) i also think they could shave a little off the price , and by that I mean it's just plastic no metal , and the only other down fall is the speaker is hard to hear for the ignition when you start the tractor....but with that in mind it also has simple trouble shooting features to it that I did not realize it had until I put it together , also has working headlights over all not bad buy , keeps him busy and his mind active..

Grandson loves it!
Bought this for my two year old grandson who loves tractors. I was very skeptical about ordering it and debating for a few weeks due to a lot of bad reviews about it, but decided finally to try it. Was so glad I did. He loves it so much and it's all he plays with. It's made fairly good and have had no problems with it like alot of people complained about. The price does seem a little high for what you get, but that's my only complaint about it. If your kids love tractors they will love this.

4 stars
Gave this to my 2 tractor loving grandsons. I'm sure they'll love it, eventually. It comes unassembled. There are so many pieces. Their dad didn't look so excited. If u can put it together before gifting that would be preferable. Too bad the manufacturer took away some of the fun.

Our grandchild loves it! Plays with it often among his toys.
The steering wheel is the only complaint I have as it seems to not stay in place as well as I believe that is should. Pulls off really easy.It is a great toy though.

Great Gift for a kid interested in tractors
We bought this for our 3 year old nephew for Christmas. He loved pushing it around and "fixing" his tractor. He only questioned where the trailer was. Then his funny comment when you ask if he is servicing his tractor, he replies, "I got a half a tractor." It is quite entertaining for him and he seems to love it so far.

Ok at best
I had high hopes for this looking at pictures and reading reviews, but after unboxing it was clear that this was just another cheap toy. It is put together very simply for a child, and only used 2 different fasteners/3 wrenches for the whole thing. Its quite detailed in what comes off of it as well. The issue is the way some parts line up, namely the 2 side panels. They lined up horribly, and required some serious muscle to get them into place along the back side where the hood hinges. Didn't really see much reason why they made the side panels removeable, theres nothing underneath. The hood was another area of concern. It simply relies on a ''locking teeth'' method of holding it up, along with 2 flimsy support rods like a car hood. The issue is after opening it a couple times, it almost feels like you are going to break something opening or closing it, and it immediately started showing signs of stressing the plastic.
