Is this a karaoke machine or just a speaker? How do "singers" see lyrics and get the music?

When I first turned on the machine the mic worked then it completely stop working. Can you tell me what may be the problem before I return this item?

just received this item, itwon't turn on its charging, and a red light turns on but nothing else, does it have to charge for a while b4 it turns on?
