These will work nicely to raise a sprinkler head that's intent on making it's way to middle earth . Well this little apparatus can be cut to size to raise said sprinkler head to the desired height . It's made of durable material & segmented to be able to cut to the desired length & cheap enough to not break the bank .

My lawn system is 35 years old. Over that time, the debris has built up in the yard and the older sprinkler heads seem too deep in the ground. They still come up but are recessed. All I have to do to make them work better (so nozzle sticks up higher when it sticks up under pressure) is unscrew the head, determine how much it needs to be raised, cut the riser extension to the correct length, and screw the head onto the riser and then onto the underground pipe. I also add a riser when I have to replace a head because the old one failed (usually they stick up when off and the mower gets them). Do not overtighten when you screw the head on. It doesn't need to be very tight. Hardest part is keeping dirt/sand out of the hole when the head is removed. Takes some practice! The key to success is to know what size pipe fitting (most are 1/2 or 3/4") is in the ground, what is on the bottom of the sprinkler head, and which threads are male or female. I have different versions of these, some 1/2 inch, and some adapters from 3/4 to 1/2". There are many options.
