Best snare head
Sets up easy, tunes like a breeze. Sounds terrific. I even like the look. Using on a vintage 80’s Tama rosewood snare. Crank this baby up and enjoy beating it to rock or using brushes. Deserves a 6 star rating.

Well made
I'm a big fan of these. A little warmer tone that G1/G2 type hears and you can't beat 'em for brushes.

Before you buy
I'm not a fan of Fiberskyns, they feel too plastic and they are not durable (I had a snare head rip on me after 6 months) it's Remo's only Lemon honestly because all their other heads are fantastic. Evans tho, they did it right. The head feels so good it feels like real calfskin (but you won't feel guilty about it), the rolls, the definition, warmth, resonance... everything about them feels nice. I play with AJ5's and 7A's so your mileage may vary if you play with thicker sticks but generally, these geads are tanks, they'll take a beating and they'll last a long time (had mines for a year and a half and just bought new ones).Overall great heads and you won't be disappointed.

Highly recommended
Love the sound. Warm, punchy, and stunning. Easy to tune. Ppl say don't play these if you're a rocker, but I've had no problems and they look amazing on my 60s ludwig kit.

Closest to Real calfskin
I’ve used just about all the calf-skin like drumheads, (Fiberskyn, Renaissance, skyntone, Strata, Vintage) and real calf skin, and this is closest. Fewer higher overtones while retaining a soft feel.I noticed the actual film has lots of tiny bumps in it, rather like a hand hammered cymbal. I think this helps create the soft feel and lower overtones. It also makes the top of the head feel a slightly bumpy after a little playing. Some reviewers seem to think this means the coating is already separating, but in my case it's just the coating conforming to the head after a little playing.I can’t speak to long-term durability yet, but I’ve had this on my snare for a month of modest practice with light sticks and brushes, and it seems fine so far.The next time I'm looking for real skin sound and feel, without getting actual calfskin, this will be my choice.

Great synthetic skin heads
These are my favorite go-to drumheads now. They are thin and tune really nicely and have great response and sensitivity. They last awhile too. I have a lighter touch and i play jazz/softer music so if you're a heavy hitter these might not be for you.
