This anchor is flat-out incredible. With about 8 feet of heavy chain, it holds my 19’ deep-V hull solidly in a strong river current. Once it sets, it sets. No dragging, no slipping — it digs in and stays put exactly like an anchor should. What really makes this thing special is the sliding eye ring on the shaft. That design is pure genius. When it’s time to pull anchor, you just drive over it and lift — it breaks free cleanly without fighting it. Anyone who’s ever wrestled a stuck anchor knows how huge that is. I’ve tried other anchors over the years, and none of them come close to doing what this one does. This is the only anchor I’ve owned that can both hold hard when you need it and come up easily when you’re ready to move. Rock-solid design, smart engineering, and absolutely worth every penny. Good quality heavy duty anchor. Perfect size for our boat. Fits well in our storage area of the boat. Galvanized steel seems like it will hold up for a long time. Quality for the money. Heavy and sinks fast but easy enough with a few tugs to pull back up. Looks like a nice anchor.

If you are worried about Gilligan, the Skipper, and a billionaire’s wife ruining your boating trip, buy this anchor immediately. It arrived exactly as described—solid, heavy, and looking like it could hold down a small iceberg. I dropped this thing into the muck, and I’m fairly certain it dug all the way to China. I’m writing this review from the same spot I anchored at two days ago because I haven't moved an inch. Pros: Keeps you off uncharted islands. Cons: Gilligan will be disappointed. Verdict: 10/10. I bought an anchor. You never buy an anchor just because you want one. This filled a need. Note... you can avoid purchasing this product if you check your kid's knot to the chain. I was trying to learn the boy some boating things and this new anchor was what I ended up with. If you care to dive in the 2nd cove north of Sulpher Creek (iykyk), there is a perfectly good anchor just like this one you can have...in about 30 feet of water. I can attest that this new anchor works well and stays attached to the chain when you trust but verify.

A decidedly low budget anchor. First, let me explain my use case. We have an 18’ center console boat that we take to the beach and anchor bow out. Two anchors, one bow and one stern. This anchor held fine in sand and mud in calm conditions on the bow with 3’ of chain. However, occasionally we would anchor in a spot with some weeds and this anchor immediately failed, probably because the flukes are too short. So I tried it on the stern. On the stern, I usually use no chain since I don’t want anyone kicking this chain on the beach, and I usually bury they anchor too. While this anchor held fast once set and or buried, it almost never set by itself from a throw ashore and pull, whereas a normal style danforth always set itself. So, meh. I couldn’t return it so gave it to a friend. I’d consider this a picnic anchor, but don’t trust it.

Works great. Best anchor we've had yet. Grabs ahold in strong current and easy to get unstuck, which doesn't happen very often.
