I bought this nutcracker as a gift for my son. I always buy nutcrackers whose mouth opens/closes. To be honest, I gave the nutcracker to my son for his birthday without checking the mouth. My son loved it. It is very detailed and was pronounced to be 'cool' - high praise from my son.
